According to Real Clear Politics, Sarah Palin has found her history tour of the American northeast so successful that she will soon take similar bus trips to the Midwest and American south.
Just by coincidence, the Midwest trip would end up in Iowa and the Southern junket will end in South Carolina. Iowa has the first national party caucus and South Carolina is an early primary state which votes soon after New Hampshire.
Clearly Palin is conducting a test run of what may be the most unusual presidential campaign in recent American history. She means to bypass the Republican Party establishment, including the cadre of precinct chairman whom political candidates usually cater to, and take her case directly to the voters. Many pundits regard this as a mistake and even a sign Palin has no intention of running. The party apparatus is considered crucial for creating on the ground organization that a candidate needs to get out the vote.
Palin may be thinking of a different model, one that seems to have worked in the past two or so years to shake the political foundations of the United States: the Tea Party movement.....

” Maybe you need to think a little about the concept of leadership, and what it really looks like when someone is successfully facing down pressures most of us never experience.” ==========
My concept of leadership includes more than what works for you guys. The aggreeable platitudes and generalities Sarah offers are becoming repetitious. I need more than sound bite campaigning whether it’s going to be for the nomination or for pundent peddling income. Where are we going here? I had hoped to see her go back into the den like everybody else has to and handing them their head, but
we seem stuck on high center keeping company with no one more challenging than the choir.
Leadership means breaking the mold, against the desire of the establishment.
Truth is never repetitious.
If you can’t see where we’re going, you might be coming from the wrong direction.
Fear???
I see a brave and strong woman regardless of what you have been told to think about her.
I want Sarah to announce.
I want Sarah to face down the media, but more selectively.
(This would mean ALL media.)
I want Sarah to show her hand on her grasp and depth.
I want to hear Sarah talk, wall to wall, world historical policy, the Economy, the RYAN plan, Education, Foriegn Policy.
I know she loves America and the USO type bus tour is sorely needed, but given the state of world and national affairs we Republicans need to get on the stick and show our hand. The RINO’s in Washington go wobbly Left if we don’t stand up some candidates soon that pound home how they must vote, talk and walk in D.C. So far we are wondering in the wilderness toying with running, contemplating running and otherwise avoiding all the hard venues.
I just don’t think that’s too much to ask. Dispense with the game playing and mount a battle.
Serious question RitaOK...what has molded your opinions on Palin.
Do you know her? I think we are all taking a leap of faith, however, the ones that have listened to her and not the media have more insider knowledge.
” Serious question RitaOK...what has molded your opinions on Palin? “ ==============
Serious Answer:
Sarah has molded my opinion of Sarah, whom I will crawl through glass to get elected if she EVER leaves FOX and actually declares, and if should she win the nomination. I am not convinced that “inspiring” is enough to win twice. (Thinking Obama here.)
I believe she is going to “inspire” political purity, never declare, and risk us losing moderates, Independents and women, in this RINO atmosphere where Independents and women will elect the next president.
I voted against McCain for purity last time, (Bob Barr). I stupidly crossed over in a caucas to vote against Hillary, and returned to the open primary and voted for Bob Barr, and again in the General, for purity’s sake. I lost everywhere I went. I will never do any of that again.
I know cross over is going to happen in our primary because I did it. Outside of the South, Sarah won’t attract moderates/Independents because she refuses to policy wonk and has made a much better living off of platitudes and inspiration.
I will primary for whoever can WIN, and vote for ANYBODY BUT OBAMA in the general election, but dread Romney.
You will of course hold all other potential candidates to that exacting and rigorous standard?
Of course, you will.
” You will of course hold all other potential candidates to that exacting and rigorous standard? “ ========-
You mean the rigorous standard of at least announcing, somewhere in our lifetime?
