Steele tells GOP candidates, blame yourselves for Trump winning traction (Sour grapes)

Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele has a message for Republicans complaining that they have no traction and bemoaning the way that Donald Trump is dominating 2012 news: Blame yourselves.

"You want to be president, get out there and stake your claim--make your mark," Steele said on ABC's "Top Line" Monday. "If you want to let Donald Trump take all the oxygen out of the room, then that's on the guys and gals who let him do that. You can't blame Donald Trump, because he's figured out a way to keep himself in the forefront of the discussion, regardless of what you think of that discussion."

Steele had the opportunity to chat with Trump at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner. Steele reports that he believes Trump is serious about running for president.

The Lefty Media loves when a former GOP or RINO comes out slamming their own party. Steele, the ousted failure, is now going after the GOP's "lame" candidates.

Expect more of this from the party of Lindsay Grahamnesty and Scott "Playgirl" Brown.

Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele has a message for Republicans from his seat at a lesbian S&M club.

There, fixed it. Him, his cronies...same difference, same lack of judgement.

Don’t care about Steele nor the GOP. Just hand over your dough to FR or the PAC of your choice.

Trump and Steele chatting together? I thought Trump was a racist. Maybe he was telling Steele to go get him coffee.

I read the article but didn’t watch the video’s. I notice he didn’t state what made Trump a topic, mainly the BC. I really believe that the OBL hit was to take the heat off of the poorly created new BC. I really don’t think it matters if we put all Tea Party candidates in office. Somehow, we’d still lose.

No one has posted earlier or more ardently against the chairmanship of Michael Steele then I have. But I must say I do not understand a practice among posters who simply attack the man. This ad hominem diminishes the power of this forum and avails almost nothing.

For the record, I think Michael Steele is correct in his assessment. The question is, are the other candidates laying back deliberately because they regard it as too early tactically to enter the fray because this is not a good time to be a target as the leading candidate. This is a perfectly reasonable approach.

Or, it might be that these candidates are laying back because they do not want to get ahead of the issues and that is a revealing symptom of cowardice and a recipe for failure. Where are they on the debt extension?

I guess they just like to knock on Michael Steele, but even a busted clock is right once a day and Mike is right on this.

The would be Republican Candidates are as frightened as little kids to make waves, and what we need is a tsunami.

There is plety of ammo out there to lay into Obama with, but none of them have the balls to take the fight to him

Trump is a POS and IMO he may even be working for Obama to get the BC issue off the table, but at least he stirred the crap and made a stink. The others have just been laying back and waiting on their RINO friends to support them.

I also agree with you. I can see no reason Steele should be attacked for something quite similar to remarks Rush Limbaugh has made.

I agree. There are a lot of non thinking drive by comments on this forum by folks who obviously just read the headline and decide the person involved is someone they dislike. The response to the great comments from the head of the Black Chamber of Commerce last week was a prime example.

I”m no Steele guy by any means, but he got this one right. Are we conservatives people of ideas like we claim, or are we just as silly and focused on personalities like the childish liberals? If anyone is truly focused on ideas, they would welcome the seeing of the light from folks who have been blind in the past.

After all, if we don’t welcome that, why the hell are we even doing this?

My point was the fact that when Steele goes on the record to diminish the field of GOP candidates, no matter how accurate, the MSM will use it against us.

I think the Left rarely (save Nader, Sheehan, Weiner or Kucinich) ever go after Obama.

Our disunity will allow the Bisexual Marxist Muslim a 2nd term.

Oh, and people who criticize me, its your right, I merely disagree.
