"[Perry]can convince people that hes whatever they want him to be." Romney does that too. But without knowing more I'll give Perry the benefit of the doubt I won't give to Romney.

DeMint doesn’t seem to be running (I wish he would)
Bachmann probably is but it’s to be seen if she can stand up in a national campaign
Cain...Rabid followers do not a presidency make, ask Ron Paul.
West is a freshman Rep with a bright future, in the future.

Well, like it or not all the candidates who are polling high are making trips to primary & caucus states.
They also have field teams active.
This mystical idea that Palin can enter the race with zero organization against Huckabee & Romney who both have huge machines that have run campaigns before is weird.
Palin was along for the ride in 2008. McCain did not give her any of the email lists, Twitter followers, FaceBook friends or contacts (just compare Palin's to McCains). If she wants to run she needs to start as soon as possible.

Although it would be fun to see Perry go up to Obama on January 20, and tell him, “Adios, Mofo.”

Perry was the Ag Commisioner in Texas before running for Lt Governor. He beat a very popular John Sharp for the job and has ascended since then. But, even though I am a native Texan, I fear that he will be linked to GW in any race; that’s not fair but he will carry the baggage.
To: Arkansas Toothpick
If things continue to tank under Obama, GW will start to look pretty good.

Could be huh? But there are some here that say that SHE WAS THERE FIRST and the tea party dissed her and no one on earth is more qualified than her and they will write her name in even if she moves to Greenland.

Most of us well recall the friendship between Sarah Palin and Rick Perry at the RGA and other venues. I just have a hard time escalating that to Palin's support of Perry for POTUS.
And, as I said, I still detect an undercurrent of anti-Texas bias across much of the land. (That was even clear during the World Series; so much hatred for the Rangers was demonstrated just because of where they're from).
We'll see if I'm the one ultimately eating crow on this.
(Courtesy ping to windflier to get his take since he's a goto guy for Texas political discussions).

The Huckabee campaign came out and said that wasn't true... but I don't believe them.
The fact is Romney & Huckabee have field teams in several states.
Pawlety hired Nick Ayers from the RGA who did the mid-term commercials and in Iowa pretty heavily.
Palin is not running.

“Bachmann/Palin”
Can’t see it. Palin would have to be kept under tight reign.
Too ‘unrouge’ like.

No, as I’ve tried to tell people around here for a year, it’s a “tactic” called NO ORGANIZATION. She has none. And it will make Freepers’ heads explode when they finally realize it.

I give it 4 minutes before this thread is seen by the bots.
Actually they will see the very title and think a troll started it.

Palin isnt running. Candidates already have teams on the ground. It's still very early in the game. Reagan did announce his first run until Nov 1979, just a year before the elections.
I am glad Sarah is taking her time. She is a genius at taking on her opponents. Hopefully, she will wait until Summer to announce. When she does you can be sure she will be on total offense out the gate.
