Why a Donald Trump Presidency will Trump All (Some Dems have had enough of Zero)
Business Insider ^ | April 11, 2011 | Alan Dunn

Posted on 04/11/2011 1:01:24 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

When it comes to choosing political parties I have been Democrat since the time I was allowed to vote. My family has different party affiliations and the people in my life choose one party over the other for reasons of their own. Ultimately no one forced me to become a Democrat, it just happened.

Under George W. Bush the Republican Party reminded me of exactly why I choose to be Democrat yet the Obama presidency has left me to wonder why I choose any party at all.

Politics may be very well about choosing a side and making sure the stars line up to have your side collectively come to a decision but when it comes to getting things done we need someone who has experience on the street, after all how worse can things get?

When the Yankees are down 3-1 in the 9th inning you can bet a designated hitter may be called up. Well, we are down 16 Trillion dollars so don’t you think it’s time to vote someone in office who has a hit home run or two?

Donald Trump may not be the best candidate for president however do we need another politician in charge or someone who is actually aware of the financial mess America is in and has a personal interest in making the country whole again?

Some of the most successful political and global leaders in the world have all come from men and women with entrepreneurial backgrounds yet in America we hardly ever ask questions about a political candidate’s actual experience and vote based on how they make you smile, what party they are affiliated with and more unrelated factors to the actual ability of the person to do the job.....

There won’t be a Donald Trump presidency. Not in 2012. Not ever.

Trump is a diversion from real Conservatives.

You mean like a "sideshow"? Now where have I heard that?

Perot, is your memory that short these days?

No, it was David Plouffe yesterday on all the Sunday news shows that call Trump a "diversion" and "sideshow."

Is that you, David? Tell your buddy, Obama, his time is running out...Trump is gonna kick his butt!

No, Rove would never back Bachmann as the actual candidate. Just possibly knock Palin down in Iowa, which may be all Rove and company think they need.

Here was the Freeper’s posting on http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2702699/posts?page=30#30

You can take it up with him/her for more background.

She is still Rove’s trojan horse who is against earmarks except in her district who begged for compromise on the budget. Do you really want her in the WH with her zero resume and fielding advise from Rove and reaching across to democrats in compromise. Maybe bringing Carter for a couple of awards since she so passionately supported his campaign. You people need to get over her crafted Tea Party image. She’s Rove’s invention.

Roves hates Palin .... Loves Bachmann. That’s all we need to know.

No, I brought up Perot as an example of a billionaire’s ego in presidential run. I said you would be deluded if you didn’t think Trump would continue his run as an independent. That was agreeing with his being ‘in it to win it’, but carrying it through to the next logical step. No offense or insult intended!

I am a liberal because I don’t trust Trump. You are an idiot and that is more the truth.

When making a sports analogy it is best to know something about the sport in question.

Got it. Thx.

I agree that Trump is one very determined SOB once he gets his mind on something. That said, he has much more common sense than Perot.

Karl Rove helped Bachmann early on in her career to get elected in Minnesota. I heard him say that yesterday.

I am sure he helped quite a few that we don’t even know about.

He said nothing about endorsing her this go round. I think he is a Romney or Jeb Bush man now.

There is one undeniable truth here. If someone wants to run and has the resources, they should run. It is nonsense that people can stop someone from running. All they have to do is pay the fees and file the paperwork. It also helps to spend time in early primary states.

I actually don’t think either of the lovely ladies will win this time, but they can enter the contest and show their stuff. That usually works far better to convince people of your readiness for the top job.

I’m not sure about that. But I do think the Dems would be thrilled to have him as a third wheel in the general election, whether Barry or Hill is their candidate. So going third party could make him a hero in his heavily Democratic NYC and entertainment world spheres.

First I’ve heard of it, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Karl Rove is all-in for Romney 2012 and Jeb Bush 2016 and Gov. Palin doesn’t fit in there anywhere. Problem is, we’ve only elected a House member to the presidency once, in 1860, in a strange four-way race. Rep. Bachmann has only slightly more chance of being the next president than I do.

If it’s true, I think it would be primarily an Iowa strategy, as that’s where Sarah would probably meet her first success. Bachmann certainly muddies the water for Palin, and there was a time when the Establishment guys were talking about the advantage Palin had in being the only female among a field of men.

I know he’s really a Democrat, but just a thought: could he pour his billions into the general campaign from the #2 spot on the ticket?

If you don’t have a link with Rove actually saying it, then I do not believe it. Perhaps he had a very small minor roll, but nothing major. There is no way Karl Rove had any major role with Bachmann.

Rove is no longer trusted with independent conservatives. To me the timing of it seems like a shot a Bachmann by the Palin people. Bachmann is a rising star while Palin has peaked. Just my two cents.

There was a time here Rove was called “that magnificent bastard”.

You do know Rove chipped in on Sharron Angle campaign with cash too.

I have never been a big Rove fan, but he is kind of like Huck around here. Huck was okay a long time ago, now, not so much.

I don’t have a link because I heard it on FOX, but I am not certain about what show it was on.

Trump has absolutely no core beliefs whatsoever. He could do anything. There is no predictability. He has no conservative positions and flits from whim to whim. (He was going to run for president against republicans in 2008). He is a spoiled brat who had everything handed to him in life and expects the world to revolve around him. Sounds like a tyrant.

Your personal hate for Trump appears to out weigh your love for the U.S. Constitution.

The rest of the Republican candidates are too chicken $hit to bring up the obvious about Obama. They rather see a foreign born imposter in the White House destroy our Republic, than be labeled a racist from the rats in the media in press. Their absolute silence on this subject tells everything you need to know.

That issue alone has more weight than anything else. It’s our Constitution for God sakes! Look how much damage this imposter has done in only 2 years. Trump certainly is not the ideal candidate, but I believe very electable. He could garnish more votes than any other Republican candidate that is for sure. I trust Trump more on business, than any other political candidate. If Obama gets reelected, then I honestly do not know if we can survive it.

Look, I have some serious doubts about Trump, but what you described sounds a lot like Obama. We know what we have now, and that ain’t too good. At least Trump doesn’t hate this country and I doubt his agenda includes destroying it. Trump is an unabashed capitalist. I’ll take that over a Marxist any day.
