Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney, whos campaigned hard for Republicans across the country as he eyes a presidential run in 2012, earned high praise but couldnt secure a solid endorsement from some GOP governors yesterday.
I think hes going to be one of several people that are going to be seriously considered for the nomination, said Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who was recently elected after Romney helped his campaign. Hes an incredibly talented spokesman for the conservative cause.
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist declined to comment on Romneys 2012 chances yesterday, saying hes too busy running his own state.
Crist is one of several rumored GOP challengers also eyeing a run for the White House in 2012, along with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
It remains to be seen, simply because I dont think all the potential challengers are a known quantity yet, said South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds. I think hes a very strong contender in the future.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer also declined to officially back Romney, but called him a very qualified candidate.
He certainly is well respected in the state of Arizona, and well look and see what happens in that upcoming election, Brewer said.
Romney hasnt officially announced hell make a second try at the White House, instead saying hes focused on the midterm elections in Congress. He said hell make a decision after Nov. 2.
While Republican governors may not be firmly behind Romney, Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, a Democrat, said Romney has strong support in his home state.
He certainly seems to have some popularity in Tennessee - some of the key Republicans have been supporting him, and I suspect in the primary here hell end up doing well, Bredesen said.
BTW, answer my question. Are you prepared to dump all those on that list because they endorsed RINOs?
As for Ann, she (and Laura Ingraham) let their hormones get the best of them and were pulling for Rommey over McCain. Ann made the switch after Duncan Hunter dropped out. But she was pretty high on him before that.
No one here believes any of them endorse Romney now.
Prove it.
“Why cant Sarah look at the damage of Supreme RINO McCain?”
I’m not too please with it either. I chalk it up to loyalty to the man who
first introduced her to the national scene. It seems self-destructively loyal to me, but hey...it’s her call. At least she publicly disagrees with his policies.
I’d prefer the Huck, personally, despite his own baggage.
Why can’t Romney look at the damage of Supreme RINO McCain? You do realize that the Mittarded one endorses Flip Flop?
The Mittwits don’t have any rationale for a Romney nomination other than that he’ll play the dutiful whore to Goldman Sachs.
He’s disgusting. Filth! Might as well vote for Obama, or Jeb Bush for that matter, if you’re going to vote for the Mittarded one. Give the bank monopolists complete control of the country.
A few years from now, I'm sure the usual folks here will cry about Palin endorsing McCain, yet give pass after pass to those on the list for having 'past' endorsements.
As far as DeMint, though he says he (now) isn't sure he'd support Romney, he certainly had no problem with Mitt throwing a fundraiser for him in October 2009.
Here's my question for DeMint: since your glowing endorsement of Mitt, how has Mitt changed to the point you would no longer support him? I guess DeMint knows that its taboo to support a RINO. So he's trying to distance himself from Mitt.
But, I have no doubt if Mitt runs, and DeMint doesn't, Jim will endorse Romney once again, probably bucking for a VP slot.
I will not vote for Obama 2 which is what Sarah is in regards to hero worship.
YOU ARE THERE:

Hi, Naps.
Are you OK in Italy? Comparing Gov. Palin to the
undocumented Obama (beloved by Mitt Romney, and helped
into office by Team Romney) suggests you should
take some time off.
Okay, have it your way.
Using your words:
"Obama thanks you. He accepts you support fully. What a fool you are."
RE: GOP wishy-washy on Mitt Romney support
A few things come to mind:
1. How appropriate that the name Romney and wishy-washy appear in the same sentence.
2. GOP may be wishy-washy, but conservatives completely reject Romney because he is a statist.
3. Piss on Romney and all his orgasmic sycophants.
And under a progressive windfalls profit tax structure? Jimmy Carter liked that idea too. Is he your hero?
WOW - saying “Sarah = obozo” is waaaaay out there in fringe kook land!
So, who would YOU vote for?
I just don’t know what happened to the NRA after Heston.
I wish they were present in 86 as well. Sure miss being able to afford an M16 or a sten gun or Uzi, which should all be well under $1000.00.
Hopefully there will be a conservative that I can vote for.
