He certainly couldn't set any lower standard than their party already has. I would say he probably has better standards than those who would be his peers.
Many guys in the military can't wait to get out, and do their time as quietly and quickly as possible. What is wrong with that? If they are not performing their tasks, the fault lies with the officers, not the enlisted. If they are slackers, it's because someone is letting them be.
Heck, I kinda like the guy! I just wish he was running in California where a Democrat Senator is a foregone conclusion.
