Russ Diamond, the force behind PaCleanSweep which shook the state legislature in 2006, has announced a run for lieutenant governor as a Republican.
His platform calls for a convention to reform the state constitution, eliminating property taxes and protecting Pennsylvania from federal intrusion.
Those against whom he will be running in the May 18 primary include:

Why isn’t he running on the “S” party ticket? “S”, of course, for Soros.
Why do people think Russ Diamond has anything to do with George Soros?
You know something I don't know???
You know something I don't know???
I don't know anything, but I certainly suspect, and I'm hardly alone. PA doesn't have an elected SOS, just an apointee chosen by the Governor, not elected, so Soros didn't have to spend $ getting his Secretary of State elected like he did in OH and other states. Hasn't Diamond been a Democrat, Independent, Libertarian candidate and now a Republican? Could it be that this would be a good year to get nominated in the primary as Lt. Gov. and run on a Republican's coat tails since he will only appear on the ballot attached to the Republican nominee for Governor?
Soros may own the Democrat party, but he also owns a lot of RINO Republicans.
Diamond does not have connections with Soros as far as I can find out. But Cleansweep did partner with the League of Women Voters and Common Cause - both received funding from Soros.
Common Cause is a Soros organization involved in his SOS Secretary of State project and in changing state election law to eliminate the Electoral College.
Soros Eyes Secretaries

History’s most notorious Georgian-turned-Russian, the politically astute Joseph Stalin once remarked, “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”
The lesson has not been lost on the increasingly notorious Hungarian-cum-American George Soros.
A group backed by Soros is gearing up to steal the 2012 election for President Obama and congressional Democrats by installing left-wing Democrats as secretaries of state across the nation. From such posts, secretaries of state can help tilt the electoral playing field.

I should add that you are correct about Cleansweep. It set back the pro-gun lobby and pro-lifers both who will never endorse him for dog catcher. Opppps I just insulted dog catchers.
As I remember, LOTS of rumors about Diamond having a connection to Soros, but as far as I know, no one was able to dredge up any direct connection, just a lot of suspicions, and as you said, he was always one step removed although still doing the work to accomplish Soros' agenda.
Can you provide some more information about Diamond/Cleansweep damaging the Second Amendment interests, please.
I’ve been trying to find something concrete but all I could uncover is from http://youngphillypolitics.com/black_caucus_protests_lack_action_guns
two years ago where Diamond made a few entries that, while critical of the NRA, were unabashedly pro-2nd Amendment.

Funny thing, that.

Stopping people from killing each other: Good.
Limiting how many guns a law-abiding citizen can buy: Bad, unconstitutional, and not related to the above whatsoever.
Why on earth would it work in PA when it doesn’t work anywhere else? That’s the tough truth, Ben. It’s not a gun problem, it’s a people problem.
PS: Once we open up government, perhaps we’ll discover exactly why the laws already in place haven’t worked and/or aren’t enforced, why judges let violent thugs off easy, and exactly how loudly these people we put in positions of trust have fiddled while Pennsylvania burns...
Thanks.
The Pa. Senate is much more fiscally conservative after Cleansweep than it was before just look at how they made Rendell jump through hoops regarding the budget.
And I can't see how they are less pro-life or pro 2A.
There was at least one conservative, albeit pay-raise supporting, rep that I liked that got swept out but if you can't do the time (or maybe want the time in this case) don't do the crime.
A sensible and much needed agenda, for sure. But in these days of deception, of layers being put in place to insulate true agendas from what appears to be righteous agendas, I've gotten to the point that any hint of Soros influence compels a closer look.
I just started looking for reasons why the PA ConCon cause Diamond has been supporting is picking up some support recently and came across this thread.
The alleged Soros influence with Russ Diamond, who I've talked with years back and have always considered him to be a patriot of the first order, was a shocker. If there was any thing of substance to back it up, I'd like to see it.
MHO still is PA needs more leaders like Russ Diamond. Thanks the input, it's much appreciated.
Judge the vine by the fruit it bears. John Eichelberger is a lot more conservative than Robert Jubelirer.
