Alan Keyes hasn't dropped out!
Alan Keyes for President ^ | 2/3/08 | Gregory Poulos

Posted on 02/05/2008 4:06:42 AM PST by Brian Sears

Why has the campaign of Alan Keyes, who has been dedicated to the causes we hold dear for years, been so neglected by Christian and conservative media and organizations?

Alan Keyes came to Florida with constitutional argument in hand for Jeb Bush to prevent the deliberate starvation of Terri Shiavo. He stood with Judge Roy Moore when he was rejected for his installation of a historical monument including the Ten Commandments. He has stood for a chaplain who was reprimanded for praying in Jesus' name. He has stood with Minutemen by our borders where our federal government fails to carry out the legislated construction of a barrier.

For years, pastors and radio and television preachers and Christian programs and organizations have warned of our moral decline. Alan Keyes is the only presidential candidate among Republicans or Democrats addressing this and calling for America's Revival.

And how is he treated by Christian and conservative organizations whose causes he has served so faithfully? He is ignored. FRC, AFA, and others' value guides omit him, giving the impression that he is not running or has dropped out. Newspapers have reported that he has quit days before elections. In the case of the Miami Herald, on the front page the morning of the election under the headline "What's on the ballot?", the other running Republican candidates were named; Keyes was dismissed without being named, with the statement that there were others whose names would be on the ballot, "but they had quit the race." Where was the press release from the candidate or his campaign indicating that he had quit?

Many Christians and conservatives are upset with the choice of McCain or Romney. Many do not trust Huckabee or Paul. And a large percentage of Republicans who don't know for whom to vote, or whether they should stay home, do not even know that they have the choice of Alan Keyes. Some do not find out until they get a sample ballot, and even then, some may assume he has dropped out, because they have heard or seen nothing of him, even from Christian or conservative sources, or they have read a false report that Alan Keyes has quit.

Some people are so upset at McCain and scared of Hillary or Obama (but God has not given us a Spirit of cowardice) that they think they have to vote for Mitt Romney as the alternative. As you should be able to see, he is no alternative for a concerned and informed Christian.

Marvin Olasky's states: "Like or dislike his politics, it was good that Barack Obama could win in Iowa, where few African-Americans live." This about a man who would not vote for a law to prevent an infant who survives an abortion from being left to starve to death. The man supports infanticide.

I cannot call this good. Decades ago, the world saw a man who could stimulate the economy of a nation, restore its pride, and stir crowds with his speeches. But Adolph Hitler had a similar disregard for human life.

As for why you don't hear more of Alan Keyes, you can probably figure out: neither the press nor the Republican Party establishment welcome such blunt truth nor calls for the recognition of God's authority in our national life.

Why is this information withheld from Christians?

[Alan Keyes is the only presidential candidate among Republicans or...]

I intend to vote for him because he is the only conservative running in the Presidential primaries and all the others that are left are liberal lights.
I also believe we have been hornswaggled by the northeast liberal run GOP based on 2 facts, one, over 60 percent of the conservatives do not support McCain but split their votes amongst a crowded field and two, the continued media blackout of a conservative like Keyes.
It is time for a third party conservative, is their is time left and America does not die in the next 4 years.

When your weapon runs out of bullets, you pull your sidearm and keep shooting. Romney is our sidearm. He might be enough to keep the fight going.

The only other choice is to let them overrun us, and I will never do that.

Save your breath. Alan Keyes cannot "drop out" when he hasn't "dropped in" in the first place. I know Alan. I respect him. I've worked for him in the non-profit sector. But the simple truth is he is as irrelevant to the current presidential campaign as he was for his last campaign (running for Senate in Illinois, remember?).

Funny that you would use a firearm analogy with Romney, who wouldn’t know the working end of a gun if you asked him to demonstrate, even though he is a ‘lifelong hunter’.

I would say Romney will stand for principle more than will McCain. If nothing else he’s been faithful to his wife.

Yes he has changed. But I think he might actually believe in his conversion. Nobody knows for sure except Romney.

McCain is the worst kind of back stabber there is. That’s why he’s more comfortable with leftists, and I say he has the heart of a leftist.

McCain is a backstabber. I believe Romney is more likely to stick with what he says.

I wish I knew where you got that faith in him, for I have none.
