She has never held an elected position, all of her service has been apointment based.
This is, in my opinion, her greatest weakness in terms of high elected office. The only Presidents I can recall who never previously held elected office were Grant and Eisenhower.
How could you forget Washington!!!
Yes, if it's George H. W. Bush (#41).
The only Presidents who never previously held elected office were Taylor, Grant, Taft, Hoover and Eisenhower. I correct myself.
George Allen - US Senator from Virginia.
Son of George Allen, Sr. - NFL coach of the Rams and Redskins.
He and I partied together back in 1980 when he ran for Albemarle Councilman (Charlottesville area). He won by 4 votes. He is an up and coming star in the Republican Party.
Governor Bill Ownens of Colorado
Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina
and Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota
Are all good conservative governors.
man....too many RINO panderers around here.
i'm not ready to go prag just yet
we just got a mandate for social conservatism and yet we have folks here lauding pro-abort gun control advocates.....not to mention totally transparent racial and gender pandering.
geez......psuedoconservatives.
why don't we just become moderate Democrats...same friggin difference.
Condi is pro-abort too dear.
that's pretty funny....first time I've seen that.
Amen ....
what percentage of our FReeperdom are so damned soft only 3 weeks into a big victory that all they can laud are RINOs .....incredible.
Are these FReepers RINOs too or just ignorant.
Fred has huge carnal skeletons that the media would have a heyday with....only because he's a righty.
his wife is hot btw.
Condi vs. Hillary would be very entertaining, but highly unlikely.
No Ridge, Rudy (as you suggest) NY Gov., McCain is, unfortunately, most likely.
My fav, Frist, has already said he's back to Medicine in '06.
Jeb says no.
Also, Bill Owens here in Colorado, now seems less likely.
No Arnold ammendment.
Is Owens pro-life?
I'm supporting Don Rumsfeld -- the best man to keep the War on Terror moving forward.
I think it's pretty funny, too. DocRock made that pic. :^)
I second the nomination of Bill Owens. Need to learn more about him, but the basics:
-he's a governor
-from a western state
-knows domestic policy
-conservative policy groups love him
-catholic
-no beltway battle scars
Jeb's a great guy, but there would be serious backlash at another Bush. He finishes elected career in the Senate, like his grandfather.
