At this point, I should thank you for starting this thread. Even though it was a duplicate, it finally got me started looking into this, and examining some of the things I've seen on the unmoderated site I post at.
I am no longer a skeptic.

Be sure to provide them with a working link back to the original thread on DU. Part of what made me skeptical is that all the links I had been given were broken. I'm always suspicious of cut and paste jobs, so I had to see the proof before I was willing to believe it was legit.

Hi, first time post so hope this works. They claim to have 40,000 members--how many does Free Republic have?
I've been monitoring their site for a while now, and I'm disappointed at the amount of crude vulgarity they use. I guess most of them are young college kids, but still...

Why not just do it right back?
Hand out fliers giving later closing times for the polls ...
Because we're better than that!

"A farting horse will never tire - A farting man is the one to hire!"

I read it, but I just can't believe it! Elections are about democracy in action. They're about the freedom we all cherish, on both sides of the isle. This just can't be right, can't be true. Whoever is involved in this is NO AMERICAN! If it's true, they shall reap what they sow. If it's not, then whoever put it out shall do the same.

You have to grant that the liberals are using some extraordinarily clever tactics, and that it takes intelligence and sound instincts to see behind the liberal facade. The liberals' attack on Christian culture and moral order is cleverly concealed, but not cleverly enough so that it cannot be seen through. We must keep at their heels, and give them no rest when they begin to tire. They are virtuosos at the art of transformation. They can appear in a thousand forms, yet are always the same. If we catch them in their tricks, they claim injured innocence and beg for mercy. But if we extends them even a finger of pity, they chop our whole hand off. They must therefore be kept in the fear of the Lord.
I know that they hate us from the depths of their souls. I take pleasure in their hatred. There is nothing that they would not do to us if they had the power. We cannot therefore give them even the slightest bit of power. More than that, it is our duty to tell the world of their nature and their depravity. We must again and again prove their sick role in supporting the terrorists who are the target of this war. We must attack them incessantly, accuse them without pity of the crimes of which they are guilty, until the people begin to wake up. That may take a long time, but it is worth it.
We must all keep alert. We must be on guard against the insidious cleverness of the liberals. In the depths of their souls, they realize that this war has become not only a war on terror, but a war for their political existence. They desperately seek to stop the inevitable march of events, but it will do them no good. We will keep at them.
The liberals laughed when they first saw us. They are not laughing any longer. They choose to wage war against us. But that war is turning against them. When they planned to totally destroy the Republican Party, they signed their own death warrant.

Let's be 100% honest. We have benefited from dirty tricks too. If it wasn't for push polling in the 2000 South Carolina primary we might have John McCain as our President now. I am not stating that the president was behind the push polls, but his amazing comeback win in South Carolina was the beginning of the end for McCain.
Even worse, if it were not for exclusionary polling tactics in a couple counties in Florida, Gore would probably be our President. Again, I am not stating that anybody was "intentionally" denied access to the polls, but there is no question that more than a few hundred people were, and Gore would have benefitted overwhelmingly from their votes.
I am sure I am going to get hammered for saying these things, but I am NOT a fan of turning a blind eye to political reality. And also, I do not think that the President was directing anything that did happen. At some time or another every party engages in dirty tricks, and in 2000 they may have saved our butts. If we don't engage in this stuff to some extent, that will be another reason that we are morally superior, but there will nothing to counteract their own games.
