You pull in and enter and then discover they are huffing cigs. You only get an hour for lunch. Too late. Smoking should be the exception, not the rule. Smokers should have a list of establishments, not the other way around. Smoking cigs is farking stupid to begin with but I won't get into that. You'll claim I have an agenda.

No, owner discretion should be the rule.

I don't smoke. When I go out to eat, I avoid places where people smoke. They are happy, I'm happy. We only get a half hour lunch. It seems to me that with an hour long lunch you could do some exploring. I don't have any sympathy for complainers who want everyone else to conform to their wishes.

Is your point that the business owner should be told what legal activites he cannot permit in his place because he has some out-of-town visitors? Or that out-of-towners have more rights than the business owner? Or patrons? Why should anyone have a list of establishments? Who are you to state that smoking should be the exception?

The ironic thing to me is that smokers have made lists of where they can smoke - in Florida it's restaurants with porches (we can smoke in bars). So, guess what? Every restaurant without a porch is losing business. I can imagine what is happening in places where porches are not hospitable places to eat.

I'd say that this is another freedom-busting liberal idea that is going to hurt alot of small business owners considerably, which will hurt tax revenues, etc., and ultimately come back to bite them all on the ass.

No, You pull in, read the frackin sign on the DOOR that says SMOKING WELCOME HERE, turn around and walk two doors down to have your lunch. Smoking cigs may be stupid but it's not nearly as stupid as giving up your individual liberties and private property rights and expecting fairness to result.
