How about regulation of foods. The FDA regulates foods as well as drugs, would you go for a ban on red meat? Just because some regulation takes place does not allow for personal freedoms to be overridden by any government.

Any regulation designed to protect you from yourself allows the Government to extend its reach into areas where you don't want it. If you support laws against drugs you don't use or sexual practices you don't enjoy you are not safe because the same laws can be used against you if the government decides your choice of drugs or sexual practices is now verboten. As for food regulations, I know people who like raw milk cheeses and can no longer get them, even if they are willing to take the risk of consumming such food.

It's a pure case of "Be careful what you wish for"
