Well, I wish they would have started the lawsuits earlier than this, but it is a start. Starting tomorrow this stupid ban goes into effect.

You get a ticket if you smoke.
You get a ticket if you sit on a milk crate.
You get a ticket if you're pregnant and sit on the step to the subway to catch your breath.
You get a ticket if you put your package on the seat next to you on an empty subway car.
You are free to walk into City Hall with concealed weapons and fire away! No problem!

Donald Distasio, the chief executive officer of the American Cancer Society's Eastern Division, said the tavern owners' lawsuit "is the equivalent to a 'Hail Mary' play in football. It's a last act of desperation with little hope of success."Just one more reason the American Conservative-Hater Society will never get a penny from me.

Darn good job, there ARE a couple NYS residents brave enough to fight the Gestapo...I don't get to Syracuse often, but when I do, I'll make a point of going to Burnet Ave and stop at Dodester's AND Murray's bars.

"We feel the state shouldn't be telling us how to run our business," said Sue Murray, co-owner of Murray's. "Our customers should be able to smoke if they want to. Tobacco is not illegal." Uh Oh...they're in trouble. Common Sense has no place in 21st Century jurisprudence.

#1 I am repelled by 2nd hand smoke
#2 Smokers are American citizens, pay taxes and have the right to congregate in public places and public accommodations such as hotels, bars and restaurants.
#3 Owners should be the ones to decide the smoking policy of their establishments. I am sure this will leave the public with many choices of places to eat and drink and feel comfortable while doing so.
#4 Anti smoking activists are demented little children and should STFU. I'm tired of their self righteous spiel and sucking off the public tit via anti smoking programs.

I have lived in a few different states and From what I can see if you want to control something, Then why take it away. Thats like a child who has done something wrong. How would we punish them. By taking something away from them or telling them there would be restrictions of use or time with it? Lets get with it people we are adults! Or For the most part alot of people are pretending to be! I kind of feel like we are a black person that has been pushed to the back of the bus. We are being slowly segregated to satisfy the (NON) or ones that dislike something! When it all hits the fan one of these days we will see that its not you or me (smokers or non) that are to blame for this. So why should we suffer? on both ends of the fence. First they have stolen from our economy to get so many hooked and then over the years we start to find out the almighty truth about the dangers and how the companies have taken advantage of us and tried to kill! Whats someone soppose to think when the govenment that we are suppose to trust has turned and pulled this crap! I can understand if a buisness wants to change its policies on smoking or have "SMOKE-FREE" establishments, But my Point is why take it away from being outside in the fresh air? If I choose to smoke in front of a store while a wait for someone, as long as I am not being sick about it and blowing the danger at people, then whats the harm??? Next question is what about the handicapped that don't much or have the ability to understand all of this. For some, these little things will have a great impact. Most people don't think about some of the unfornuate or some that just live day to day and only have little to look foward to. Some smoke and some don't. But in full , I would just like to say, Lets try to fair about this and try and figure out what we can do to actually help the situation and eventually get everyone smoke-free. I have smoked for over 15 years and have tried just about everything to try and throw them out. But the drug wins every time! Next time one of you decide to say , "Oh I don't like cigarette smoke, It stinks and really bothers me, I might die off the fumes" Try getting near a vehicle and smelling some of those fumes for a short second or 2. You then think WOW There is something WORSE!!! NYS HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA . Thanks for the NEW HARDSHIP!!!
