You've got that right. And it goes for Delaware as well.

in spite of the fact they have that open fireplace in the dining room that emits more smoke and smell than a room full of cigarette smokers....

They have no clue, do they????

Like you, I was born & raised in NYC. I have ALWAYS hated it here, even as a child. I should have gotten out when I could, and now I'm stuck here for at least the next 6 years.

The vote in the Senate (RINO Central) is an embarrassment and my senator and assemblyman are both getting personal visits from me tomorrow morning. I think I'll take my kid with me so he can watch an irate citizen tell her "representatives" off right to their faces. It will be an object lesson in the workings of a "free" republic. (HA! "Free" my foot!)

And BTW...what's with Pataki signing this hot off the presses?? This from a guy who doesn't wipe his a$$ without getting a poll. What a putz.

Regards,

Regards to you as well, my FRiend.

Yes, take your kid with you when you go.

The members of the Delaware Legislature are very used to seeing me with my kid in those hallowed halls - it's not goig to stop anytime soon. Even though in 3 weeks I will be living 2 hours as opposed to less than 2 miles away from the capitol.

I walked out of Cracker Barrel because they were non-smoking, in spite of the fact they have that open fireplace in the dining room that emits more smoke and smell than a room full of cigarette smokers....

Wood smoke!!! Those evil polluters. Don't they know they're polluting whole neighborhoods?

The smoking nazis are everywhere. It is getting real bad here in Chicago too. The smoking nazis are cracking down on us in Chicagoland hard. Instead of worrying about the gangs and crack dealers in the city of Chicago, Mayor Daley is more concerned about banning smoking city wide.

It's all because of the Great Second Hand Smoke Lie.

The WHO (World Health Organization) who is perpetrating the Great Second Hand Smoke Lie is truly an amazing organization. Millions of people under the age of 44 die all around the world from infectious diseases that they say could have been prevented for the pittance they also claimed (which BTW would amount to .4% to 20% of their annual budget).

http://www.overpopulation.com/articles/2002/000006.html

The WHO apparently has more critically important things to worry about than infectious diseases. After all, if infectious diseases were brought under control, then what would the WHO have left to do? Poor people in developing nations apparently hold little interest for the WHO socialites, so they have to find something else to pay for their extravagant overhead and catered conventions.

The WHO's cancer research branch -- the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) did their own "study" on Second Hand Smoke and was set to release results in 1998. The WHO was touting it as the definitive study on SHS to prove once and for all... but the results weren't quite what they expected.

http://www.junkscience.com/news/newets.htm

Poor WHO. All they could do was throw out a quick press release.

http://www.who.int/inf-pr-1998/en/pr98-29.html

The study itself is finally available on the WHO site (.pdf format - need Adobe Acrobat Reader).

http://www5.who.int/tobacco/repository/tpc57/IARC.pdf

Get the facts and fight back.

Oh, but an open fireplace provides such a warm, cozy atmosphere...it's Americana! Evil cigarette smokers are the ones polluting the air, not fireplaces....They haven't got a single clue as to how overbearing and intrusive they are. They strain at gnats, and swallow camels. Oh, for a little consistency in this day and age!

So, people set fires with unattended space heaters and candles as much or more than with tobacco smoking.

Smoke tobacco, not c*ck

It just amazes me that the mayor of New York is too chicken to round up illegals and drive them into the sea, bring the wizzards of the financial district in to create a coherent budget, or anything smart.

Instead we have public employees harrassing us about smoking and cell phones in theatres. Must have gotten his relevance training at the UN.

Stick a sock in it.

You and the rest of your freedom grabbing leftists will have your day.

I so agree. You know, when people do things as corruptly as the anti's have, they never win in the long term.
They won't this time either.
Patience is a virtue.
And it does already appear that non smokers are starting to detest these people as much as we do.
Nobody likes whiners. And these people are nothing but whiners.
