I agree that restaurants should be able to accommodate both smokers & non smokers if they have the facilities but ........ AIRLINES???? There is no way non smokers can go back to smoking on airplanes. Sorry, can't happen. I can remember back in the bad ole days of smoking on airlines when I would arrive sick at my holiday destination. It would take a couple of days for me to get over the exposure to the smoke. Why did I sit in the smoking section, you ask? I didn't, but it didn't matter, the smoke was all over the plane. I remember one disasterous trip, when I was put in the smoking section by accident. As soon as we were in the air, the men on each side of me lit up & smoked for 2 hours. My sensitivity to tobacco smoke is much worse now. A trip like that would probably kill me. All this happened back in the days when smokers were in the majority & a meek little non smoker like myself wouldn't dream of saying anything to them. Those days are over.

I know better than to answer you, ditz, but I have nothing better to do while waiting for a lengthy download on my slow connection so I'll make an exception to my "ditter-free" rule. The point you so conveniently overlooked was that an airline, like every other private business, should have that CHOICE. You guys sure get a bee in your bonnet at the thought of choice, don't you? Guess like the Aussie newbie, you need Big Daddy gubmint to make your choices for you. I don't.

Funny...... I have a friend, a non-smoker who now gets sick on planes due to lack of fresh air intake.

Thank you for your e-mail, and I do understand your problem, as for my friend... you're wrong, she does not get illnesses, it's lack of oxygen.

a meek little non smoker like myself

"And the meek shall inherit the earth."

Bet you can hardly wait for the will to be probated, huh?

I love the little word picture, "meek," "little."

Who could disagree with the downtrodden, meek, little pipples of the earth? What kind of monster wouldn't give way to their righteous whining?

Do you even have a clue of how you come across?
