Smokers are funding the biggest portion of the indoctrination that you are receiving in that building titled "public skrooool". If tobacco is so evil, I challenge a total ban on sales of it. Oh, wait, the gubmint couldn't live without the dollars that they are addicted to.
What other activities would you like to see regulated by the government. How about we ban offensive music. I get to define what is offensive. Can you live with that?

You sound like your apart of that anti-smoking youth group called "Truth."
That group comes off so simultaneously pretentious and incorrect that one has to wonder something. Are they simply an effect of the modern public schools' philosophy that self esteem is a valid substitute for knowledge? Or are they a sneaky plot to get kids to smoke by making anti-smokers look like a bunch of dorky know-it-alls?
I can't comment on that lovely vision in pink, everything that comes to mind might get me banned. Thank you for posting it. >:)

You know, and I say this with a good bit of sincerity (although it is a rather tounge-in-cheek comment too): If everyone, the government, nosy people, pushy people, EVERYONE, if they'd all just STOP trying to get me to quit smoking, I might actually do it on my own one day.
I HATE being told what to do, especially by people who don't even KNOW me.

Oh wow, this IS an old thread. Well, thanks for bumping it Mister/Miss anti-smoking Nazi-troll!
My statement in post #63 still stands.

So who's surprised?
The American Talib are so mad that they just banned smoking in a town called Revere, 3 months before the statewide ban takes effect.

I'm 17 and I stand for banning smoking in all public places and banning smoking in vehicles where children are present....Peace out Dial 1-800-IMA-WUSS then. You're 17; you do not know jack about the real world, and you have yet to work for your daily bread. Thank God you can't vote yet.
Smoking is my right. Step on my rights at your peril.

I just read your post #30 aqnd you made me laugh out loud.
There is nothing as sure of themselves as a 17 year old.I loved the stats that you posted. Where did you get them and who funded the study?
As someone who is old enough to be your grandmother I would suggest that you never believe any studies on any subject until you've really researched the subject.

Re your post 63,the same with me.
I spent years leading a busy, good little wife and mother life.Quite normal and uneventful.
Now I'm a smoking grandmother and I finally feel like a rebel. Every time I light up it feels like an "in your face" behaviour to me,and I love it.
The more they push ,the more I smoke.

I used to smoke very rarely, like maybe one a month. I always made a point of having a cigarette on the "Great American Smokeout" Day.

Cigarettes stink; that's the one irrefutable fact.
Most smokers can't smell it.

It is actually quite difficult to start a fire by flipping a lighted cogarette; set up some dry leaves and try it.
To: metesky
Actually you missed me; but that's okay, after I bonked you on the head and made you drink your container dry you went right to sleep.

The American Talib are so mad that they just banned smoking in a town called Revere, 3 months before the statewide ban takes effect. Several dozen Mafia soldiers and Devil's Disciple biker guys are rolling over in their respective graves at the news that Revere has gone wussy.

It'd be interesting to see inspectors walking into the Cove or some other roughntumble joint on Revere Beach.
This after extorting fees for special smoker permit bars for the past few years. Which every bar got.

That may be true. In some areas, all it takes is once to do considerable damage. Most people who throw lighted cigarettes out of vehicles don't care anyway. It's the attitude of indifference that bothers me.

Hell's Grannies! (Thanks to MontyPython) Hey, stop hanging out on streetcorners and ogling the teenagers, willya.
And get that darn cig outofyamouth. Don't u realise what an example you're setting.
Tobacco - irritates tightarses as much as pot did in the 60's.

I heard about those 60's kitchens!
Gonna sit around the kitchen,
Fix me something good to eat,
Gonna make myself a little high,
Make the whole day complete,
Gonna lay around the shanty, Mama,
And put a good buzz on.
