Anybody who accuses someone of race-baiting is the racist, IMO. The fact that Jesse and Al use the word like it's going out of style doesn't take away from the reality that racists exist.

Would it therefore be racist to say that Al Sharpton is a race-baiter?

What the hell planet are you on? Come out in the sunlight once in awhile. Mexicans/Hispanics/Latinos sure as hell are a recognized minority and get preference over whites. How doe's that make you feel? You could have served in Vietnam or elsewhere and some Hispanic from Guatemala matters more than you do. Only a loser would stand for that and think it is fair.

Schools bursting at the seams, gangs, illegals on welfare, illegals waiting till they get here to have their babies.

This is the absolute truth. Anyone who doesn't see this has their head in the sand. We have a HUGE problem.

For what it is worth Vicente Fox appointed a commissioner to represent Mexicans in the Aztlan province. For what it is worth. You figure it out. We have only history including Texas history to go by. Kosovo comes to mind. Once Serb now Albanian. All through illegal immigration.

Moonies are more of a threat. Stop falling for the lefty radical fear cliques.

Really?
Are moonies shooting at Border Patrol Officers?
Are moonies smuggling drugs into the country?
Are millions of illegal moonies voting in our elections?
Are millions of moonies abusing the welfare and school system?
It seem that you have fallen for the politically correct nonsense.
Don't get me started!

I'm sorry but like some others I read some bias into all these comments about not going for the hispanic vote.

A number of the actions that have been justified as "Latino outreach" really have little to do with coservatism. A couple of exampes would be trying to reach new Latino voters in Spanish and trying to extend Section 245(i) of the Immigration and Naturalization Code.

These are both manifestations of the Clinton Legacy. It was under Clinton that English-speaking requirements were dropped and bilingual ballots fluorished. The FEC now requires a number of communities to offer non-English ballots. It was also under Clinton that the first Section 245(i) Amensties were passed. Since then, about a million Illegals have been allowed to "change status."

Now, I hope Latinos embrace conservatism, the GOP takes back the Senate and holds the House, that President Bush is re-elected, English is promoted, and that the GOP doesn't become the vehicle for yet another Amnesty for Illegals. I think all of those things can be accomplished without any Clintonian pandering.

But at the moment, I don't know all of the reasons why the President's numbers are up with Latinos, and it's a fair point to be raised, with no bias or racist motivation necessary for the raising of it.

It will cost us chunks of our country?????? Which ones? How?

Some may favor REASONABLE immigration restrictions. Some may favor federal assistance to states which have been unusually impacted by the immigration patterns, legal and illegal. It might even be reasonable to spread the new immigrants throughout the country as a condition of remaining here. We are all entitled to our opinions but there is a certain degree of unwarranted exaggeration that is customary among the anti-immigration crowd. There is also a certain degree of unwarranted document worship in the repetition endlessly of talk about the rule of law (which died here long, long ago) or about the Constitution which has been warped out of any semblance of the founders' intent by rogue courts run amok for generations. Once Mexicans learn English (which is a very good idea) they will instantly be better able than our judges to understand the meaning of our Constitution.

However it may vote, California is still part of the United States and quite likely to remain so. Likewise Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and their neighboring states.

It is not pandering to respect your fellow citizen of an identifiable group such as Hispanic, market your party and platform and ideas and philosophy to him or her and have the manners to ask for his or her vote.

I dare say that such a course of action IS the American way of which we are or ought to be proud. Machine gun nests and desert tank regiments on our borders to turn back (or worse) people who come here paying us the tribute of preferring our way of life to that of their native land would not be something to be proud of. Our ideas are better than liberal and leftist ideas and we ought not fear the public debate to win the Hispanic social conservatives to our cause.

There was a time when Senator Barry Goldwater (certainly no social issue conservative) told a Republican convention which nominated him in 1964: "I will fight and I know you will too until our cause has inspired the world and led the way to a tomorrow worthy of all our yesterdays."

Yeah, right, if you REALLY think that, you'd believe me if I told you I have a date with Britney Spears Friday night.

Impossible... I've got her for the whole weekend.

My goodness. It is easy to see. Illegal Immigration is a crime. These people are not assimilating in high numbers. Their actual numbers are too high. PC Group politics, as well as race and culture play into this aspect. I'm not going to act like their is a nice little outcome in all of this. Today's illegal immigration and immigration system is destroying the cultural, social and constitutional fabric of this nation.

What happened to California? Wide-scale immigration, as well as illegal immigration has turned it into a state that his hard for conservatives to win (an yes I know that there are Americans who are lefties who live in California. However, the facts are that it would be a conservative state without illegal immigration and wide-scale non-western immigration). Extremely diverse nations do not last very long, or if they do, they are weak.

It's time for real immigration reform and the protection of America's borders. Oh, and by the way, condoning illegal immigration signals that the future of America will not be very long in the relative scope of things.

They're kicking that idea around in canada. It'll never happen here or there.

Machine gun nests and desert tank regiments on our borders to turn back (or worse) people who come here paying us the tribute of preferring our way of life to that of their native land would not be something to be proud of

The military can and should be used to protect our borders.
The idea that these criminals are paying "Tribute" to our culture is nonsense.
They come for one thing MONEY. Most could care less about our history, or the meaning of the Constitution.
They do care about all the freebies they'll get once that anchor baby hits the ground on US soil
It's better than winning the lottery
