Conservatives can easily cause the GOP to lose elections, but it takes more than Conservatives for the GOP to win elections.

Bush seems to have learned that lesson only too well. Courting unions and farmers is one thing, spending billions of taxpayer dollars to get them to switch their votes could lose him more conservatives than he gets in democrats. Not to mention what it does to the deficit and our pocketbooks. The economy won't grow is government soaks up all the money. And an 'L' shaped recovery won't keep him in office.

So honest beliefs and principles are meaningless? The whole game is to get elected even if you have no integrity? Sorry, but I'd rather lose. I honestly believe that George Bush is a good man and wants to do what is right but he is listening to some very bad advice from his handlers. One of these days hopefully we will get a president who says "get lost" to his advisors. A president who does what is right, even if it means only 4 years in office.
