Peter Camejo, a fluent Spanish speaker from New York who was born to Venezuelan parents, is running for governor under the Green Party. He is making a serious attempt to woo disgruntled Latino voters from the other two mainstream parties, especially the Democrats.
But Camejo's views on immigration certainly raise a few eyebrows. "We think that immigration is what made America great, especially the Mexicans," said Camejo, standing in the center of the banquet hall as it emptied in preparation for the Democratic dinner a few hours later. "This is a part of Mexico, this is territory taken from Mexico, and we're for amnesty for the people who are here."

Oh yeah, small problem for the Reconquistas, eh?

I've heard lots of "reconquesta" talk from hisapnic activists......Now it's coming from a U.S. citizen (hispanic) running for Gov. of CA. This is just the beginning. As the population of illegal aliens rises exponentially in America this talk will be commonplace. Meanwhile its interesting to note that this does not register nary a concern with the Administration or the GOP. In fact, if actions speak louder than words, given Bushs strong support of Amnesty for illegal aliens, his steadfast refusal to enforce our nation's immigration laws and his never-ending pandering to Mexican political operatives Id say that Bush wants even more illegal immigration.

To paraphrase Bush, Mexico doesn't stop at the banks of the Rio Bravo.

LOL, oh brother. The Republican Party should hit themselves with a mallet repeatedly for their stupidity. I'm begining to believe they really are the "Stupid Party".

On closer inspection, this guy's parents were Venezuelan, wonder if there is a Chavez link to all this Aztlan/Marxist/Reconquista crap...
To: txdoda
Guys, the California Lt. Governor is Cruz Bustamante. Crus has openly called for California to break off as a first step toward the realization of Aztlan. The Mayoral candidate for Los Angeles that ran against Hahn has said the same thing in the past.
Don't forget, when Gray Davis leaves office Cruz Bustamante will take the figurative Democrat leadership position within the state.
Spread the word about these peckerheads!

Reminds me of the old joke : Why do you hate America Juan? Juan : Because you stole half my country. And it was the half with all the paved roads! The irony is that for several decades the Mexican government invited the gringos into their northern territories to deal with the indians which were preventing their development. The problem for them was after he had tamed the land whitey stuck around.

Now it's coming from a U.S. citizen (hispanic) running for Gov. of CA. Yes. For the *Green Party*.
Let's all raise an ice cold cerveza to Señor Camejo and hope that he does muy bueno with the State's far left voters. Sure, he's a loon; but he's a loon that's cutting away voters from Davis' left flank.

I wonder...have these Hispanic reconquistas ever considered the fact that Spain took Mexico from the native Indians that were living there, very brutally I might add. Why don't we "reconquer" Mexico for the Aztecs and Mayans?

Because the residual Spanish conquistadores, aka the Mexican elites have solved their 'native problem' by sending them north with visions of regaining their homeland (even though it wasn't *their* homeland but instead belonged to other Natives at that time...)
