Have your son contact his Company Commander, or better yet his Base Commander, and I am sure they will put the establishment(s) off limits. This is ridiculous

Did he tell them it was a military ID? A couple weeks ago I showed my military ID at a bank in Texas by accident. They cashed my check with no questions asked. As long as it has a picture a signature and now a day it even has a bar code with medical insurance info on it.

I think the guy in the tobacco shop was more stupid than anything.

Well, we know that some of the most vile liberals live in New England. We know that they unsuccessfully tried to hijack the election with the illegal publishing of a drunk driving conviction days before the election. We know they tried to discount military votes and that they hold our military in contempt. We know that they are sorry, bitter and foaming at the mouth over our beloved president.

To summarize, we know that they are scum. I suggest shopping elsewhere and publicizing this as far and as loud as you can, which you've just started. Good job and hold your head up high.

Donna,

This article here has some names of people in your area that actually run or own smoke shops. Not sure if your guy is listed her. If nothing else, it may list some alternative shops for you.

Central Maine.com story on smoke shops. Good luck!

Let him get his revenge by changing his home of record to Wyoming, Florida, Tennessee, Texas(?) or other state that don't have a state income tax.

This happened to a friend of mine when we were a lot younger. She went in to buy cigarettes, and they wouldn't take her military ID (I think we were 21 at the time). Fed up with it, I went in to buy for her (not breaking the law as we were both of age) and the clerk wouldn't sell to me, either, because I might have been buying for a minor. This was in Tacoma, Washington, at a Texaco. I later called Texaco, but I don't remember the resolution or even if there was one.

Unfortunately, they do not accept military ID's in MAssachusetts either.

Who knows why. I dont like it myself but if I boycotted every store that sells cigarettes in MAss, I would not smoke. Oh wait...

I get them from the internet anyway so Mass can go... you know the rest.

"Today, I sent my son-in-law to the Maine Smoke Shop in Brewer to buy some tobacco. He is 19 years old, and is in the military. The person at the counter asked for his ID, which I can understand. When she saw it, however, she showed it to the owner, and the owner said, “That’s no good, get out of here.”

My son-in-law told me several places in Bangor will not accept his military ID. What is wrong with this town? I will ask everyone else just as I asked the owner of that shop when I called him: Do you not appreciate having your country protected by our boys?"

am I missing something here? am not harrassing am seeing it was a 19 year old in the military trying to buy smokes....i know the author of the article is Donna and you are SheLion(no brainer)..I am just trying to comment that perhaps the owner was out of line but that the whole senario on buying smokes is petty compared to other Happenings in the World today...I fully support our fighting men and women..put me on any list you want lol...I think we are not reading each other correctly..have said before..Maine is a great State have posted stories often to a degree more important than purchasing smokes..as I said i fall into the smokers category..( regretfully)..Enjoy all the posts on here and enjoy all opinions posted..Have a good day.(will not post on this subject again),
