"A major problem for Davis is the growing support for Green Party candidate Peter Camejo, who gets almost 5% of the vote, mirroring results in other polls."
Excellent.
To: ElkGroveDan
While an 8% lead is comforting, what isn't comforting is that Simon only has 39% -- that doesn't bode well. This leaves close to a third who are undecided. And I suspect most of the undecideds are Democrats who can't stomach Davis, but who are too polluted by their liberalism to vote for Simon. Simon's best hope is that those currently in the "undecided" column will stay home, or not vote at all in the Governor's race.

Great news. Thanks for the ping.

The Davis re-election campaign.

Everyone work, work, work... and talk to everyone you know in California. If they won't vote for Simon, talk'em into voting Green Party.

What is Bill Simon 's position on the second amendment?
To: ElkGroveDan
This poll of 600 likely voters, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies July 30 to July 2 Never heard of them. When Zogby says it, I'll believe it. I hope it is true, I just don't want to get my hopes up.

Wasn't Peter Camejo the presidential candidate of the hard-line explicitly Marxist Socialist Workers Party some years ago?

I'm a woman and the gender gap continues to embarrass and disgust me. It looks like if only men could vote in CA Simon would win VERY easily.

You folks out there shouldn't be too confident about Simon. The mediawhores haven't launched their assault yet.

And don't forget the bill that will make it twice as expensive to get, and twice as hard to pass, smog tests. I like what my paper said this weekend: "(GOP says) Davis has declared war on drivers!"

yes, but if davis was ahead of simon by the same margin at this time, the press would be trumpeting it all over the place with "the end of conservatism" stories....granted that the theory goes that no one pays attention until after Labor Day, it is still better to be ahead than behind (I have a firm stranglehold on the obvious :) )

A major problem for Davis is the growing support for Green Party candidate Peter Camejo,
who gets almost 5% of the vote............... Greenies are sure consistent, if nothing else. 5% is the percentage Ralphie (Green) Nader got in prez
2000 contest. Ralphie polled 7% prior to the election, though, and was expected to do better. So
Camejo's 5% might collapse to less. But in a close race, even lesser numbers could devastate grayboy.
Betcha grayboy (and Goreon) wish Greenies weren't in the race.

The Dims seem to get a big boost in the final 3 days. If Simon can mount a 10 point lead he might have a chance to overcome the voter fraud.

I see it as Davis/Burton has declared war on every mother with a child in Kalifornia.
Our DIL has a three year old and a 16 month old. She has to have an Explorer to haul these babies around with all of their gear and to do it safely! They will be going to the Expedition in a year or so just to haul the family around safely.
Burton is anti family and a communist. This anti SUV bill of his should be used as a club to pound him and Davis and other rats back into their rat nests and out of politics.
Burton/Davis want the women of Kalifornia to haul their children around in unsafe so called gasoline efficient vehicles. Time for some big time Rico suits against the Communist/anti children/mothers Burton and the rest of his enviral thugs in the legislature.

I'll be sending some money too. $10 probably but I'm going to tell them how much I love spotted owls and red legged frogs and spiny salamanders and grey bellied grasshoppers and bulge eyed scorpions ....all endangered species.

This poll of 600 likely voters, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies July 30 to July 2 Ummm... So, was that poll conducted over a 337-day timespan, or was some editor asleep at the wheel?!? ;-)
