Anyone with 2 working grey cells knew the lawsuits were nothing more than blackmail and a shakedown for the purpose of bringing big big money into the states coffers. They knew the people wouldnt stand for tax hikes at that time and this was an easy way to fill their pockets.

It was, will be and always has been about THE MONEY!

Speaking of old cars that arent around anymore. When I was in college in Buffalo NY right down the road from my house there was the old Pierce Arrow plant.

Cool!

Once at a car show, I saw a 1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow.
One of the most beautiful cars built in that era, it was unfortunately developed in the Depression.
With the lack of customers, I don't think they ever made more than a handful.

My grandfather has a '37 Chevy that he will not sell to me. He knows I would probably "hot rod" it and he likes it the way he has it. Original.

Great comments LG. There's a lot about that whole deal I forgot or didn't know to begin with.

About the only thing I have to add is that Weasley himself is from a tobacco background.
Either his parents or grandparents owned a big warehouse right here in Rocky Mount.
He grew up on a Nash County tobacco farm.

Original can be cool too.

I've seen cars that look dead stock on the outside and pack 500-hp V8s.
I just don't agree with the top chopping everybody does.
They aren't making anymore of those cars and the modifications should be reversible.

Don't get me wrong - I like hot rods too.
Especially if the car was not a pristine example to begin with.

I have a 1955 Chevy wagon that I will NOT hotrod. The car has less than 90k actual miles and is in mostly original shape except for the paint.
OTOH, I have a 1969 Chevy truck that has some rust that I DO plan to hotrod. They made a bazillion of them anyway.

I wouldnt do any body modifications. I would update the interior to make it more comfortable and give it a kick ass paint job. But its structure would remain intact.

The engine would also be replaced.

One of these days I'll get my hands on it.

I am sure the nuts in California would like to replace cigarettes with marijuana. Of course the Kangaroo Courts of California would approve of that!!!
