Democrats are angry that House Republicans blocked consideration of a Democratic plan that would cost seniors less - but taxpayers much more.

President Bill Clinton - "in eight long years in the White House did not step forward with a prescription drug plan." So Clinton did something right.

"The passage of prescription drug legislation by the House of Representatives moves the Medicare program one step closer to providing millions of older and disabled Americans with some help against the rising costs of prescription drugs," said AARP spokesman Chris Hansen in a statement. The implication, of course, is that while this is "one step closer", the AARP and Democrats will continue to demagogue the issue. I suspect Dick Gephardt and his pals aren't too worried about this one - if anything it provides additional cover for further extending benefits.

Collectivists of the Republican variety suck up to the bluehair freeloader vote by stealing money from younger families. What's new? Ping me when the general strike starts, because I'm goddamned sick and tired of having money stolen from my family.

The AARP never met a taxpayer subsidized freebie they didn't like.

Whos running the White House, Hillary? Gawd! Our country has already been highjacked by the leftists. When is GW gonna sign the "amnesty bill" ? Might as well get that out of the way also. Give the illegals this option also. Hey, VIVA BUSH. Savior of the left agenda. It's only money. What Bush only has a 75% rating. I'm beginning to believe in a vast right wing conspiracy.

I don't want to pay anything for their prescription drugs. The Republican party has obviously been taken over by socialist if they are proposing any transfer payments.

It's about how the movers and producers of a society go on strike because they had enough of having their assets taken from them by a collectivist society.
I believe a cable channel is making a mini-series from the book.

If AARP likes this House Republican drug plan, it means socialism has taken over in America. AARP is a left-liberal-DemocRAT lobby disguised as an insurance plan for seniors.

Nah, he wanted the Dems to have that issue once he left.

The American Association of Retired Persons, a senior citizens advocacy group not known for supporting Republican positions on issues, said it likes the Republican prescription drug plan that passed the House of Representatives early Friday morning. When the socialist, anti-Second Amendment AARP supports RINOs, you know the recapped Repub's are violating Reagan's philosophy.
The Republican party is going to keep on losing doing things like this.

The plan would depend on private insurers to provide coverage for Medicare recipients, who would pay monthly premiums of about $33. The annual deductible would be $250. Seniors would pay 20 percent of the first thousand dollars for their medication and 50 percent of the next thousand dollars. Medicare would pick up the full tab once seniors have spent $3,700 in out-of-pocket expenses.
Well, at least it's not a complicated plan... I'm sure the machinations of that equation will streamline insurance paperwork and typical red tape... /sarcasm.
