I'm not going to say what I want to say here......

But, don't they have more "pressing matters" to attend to?

The tiny Vatican police force has the power to impose a 30-euro ($30) fine on any offender.

Since when is a 'euro' worth a dollar?

Vatican to adhere to 1984 UN treaty on torture
Holy See to become the 130th country to sign treaty

VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican said Wednesday it would formally adhere to the 1984 UN convention against torture.
Archbishop Renato Martino, the Holy See's envoy at its UN observer mission, is to deliver the paperwork to UN headquarters, the Vatican said.

"The Holy See considers the convention ... a valid and ideal tool for the fight against acts that constitute a grave attack on the dignity of the human person," a statement from the Vatican said.

The convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1984. It has been ratified by 129 countries. Signatories to the treaty agree to prohibit torture, and are obliged to prevent and punish not only acts of torture but also other acts of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.

Parties to the convention must subject periodic reports on implementation to the UN Committee against Torture.
