Wow, Gray Davis is an equal opportunity blunderer. Just when you thought it was limited to fundraising corruption, energy debacles and budget squandering, there's this!

However, in what is perfectly clear and unambiguous is what Gray Davis was doing the day the lawsuit was filed to prohibit schoolchildren from saying the pledge. He was doing what he was he does every day. According to his chief strategist Garry South, Gray Davis raises money 12 hours a day. On this day, Gray Davis took $45,000 in campaign cash. And perhaps the filing of the lawsuit went unnoticed by him because he was too busy counting the over $1 million he raised the two days prior to the filing of the suit. Dump Davis!

Rain, rain, stay today. This is good, real good. Simon should compare this to some of the issues Grayout has pursued through Lockyer. Would make for some good ads, I would think....

Simon's organization shows a nice instinct for the jugular.
This is shaping up as a most interesting race.

Wow! Lets hope this is the start of things to come--demoncRATs being nailed to the wall for the folly of their liberalism.

It's high time more of our Republican candidates AND elected officials spoke the truth like Simon did today.
A big Hi-Ho Dump Davis Bump!

Davis and Lockyer are out for themselves and their ideology. They will not defend the people of this state, or it's laws, unless it suits their personal pocketbooks or advances their left-wing agenda. These two have got to go.

Ooopsie.
Guess his attorney general was too busy trying to get various oil company exec's into a cell with their new "wife" ... as he put it a while ago.

Good for Simon.

"Too bad our elementary school children could not afford $100 per child to meet with Governor Davis to express their desire to say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before school. That's a great line.
I also thought Davis was pecularly silent on this, but read in the LA Times: Pledge of Allegiance Violates Constitution, Court Declares today which reported this:
The decision sparked a swift, angry reaction across the nation, including a flurry of denunciations by public figures including President Bush and Gov. Gray Davis. Bush called it "ridiculous" and Davis said he was "extremely disappointed" that a court would rule against "one of our most profound human expressions of American patriotism."
I hope Simon doesn't get burned on this.

Yahoo! Go, Simon!! "Gay" Davis deserves every bit of this - AND MORE!! For victory & freedom!!!
To: ElkGroveDan
Holy #$%#*!!!! A California Republican actually taking it to the liberals!!! This is wonderful!
This could be shaping up as another Bush vs. Dukakis race! Simon needs to go visit some flag factories and shops now - talk about how sales have increased since 9/11 and everyone wants to respect the flag, EXCEPT, APPARENTLY, GRAY DAVIS!! Pour it on!

Davis figured there was no money in it.

Dan, I don't see this on the web site (it just links to a brief statement from yesterday about it being an insult to vets) Was this a press conference he had today? Where was this from? (it's awesome, I'd like to email the link around)

Great post, Dan; let's hope Simon wins the Governor's race.

Gray Davis, The Caliph of Kalifornia.
BTW, I just heard on KCBQ that the judge that handed down the no Pledge ruling just reversed himself.
"I'm nuts and so am I!"
Don't you just love the 9th Circuit. SNL couldn't come up with better.

"Failure to ", and "Refusal to" carry vastly different connotations, in my book. Certainly Davis would prefer "failure to" at this point.

only the state of California - represented by Governor Gray Davis and Attorney General Bill Lockyer -- refused to defend our pledge."
