Clinton asks for $2.4 billion, and a few days later, Bush complies with a slightly smaller amount. Intriguing.

How can any money spent stop a morality problem. Its like spending $500 million to stop cursing. What a stupid waste of money for something that can't be stopped or cured without abstenance!

It's not as much the money wasted, but the worship going on around this whole thing. It is utterly unholly and made of sinful people and nations seeking image. Why AIDS? Why not the deadlier malaria?

Bush is beginning to look like Santa Claus with the taxpayer's money. With "conservatives" like that, who needs liberals?

You are so correct in terming this a type of worship. The sainthood given to the participants, their behavior and the ensuing disease defies all logic.

Your a jerk. Millions of children and mothers have contracted the virus through no actions of their own. The epidemic is horrifying and deserves to get this kind of financial attention.

Of course a nice Christian like yourself is just full of compassion and would gladly serve others in their time of need......

Isn't that the Christian credo...."let the darkies drop dead"...

Is this money going to cure them? Millions of children infected? How? Are there that many hemopeliacs in Africa? No they are being raped. You think your going to stop rape with $500 million? You honestly think that if you throw money at a morality problem it gets fixed? Why doesn't it work here?

I'd rather be a jerk then a complete and total dimwit that thinks money is going to fix a morality problem! Why don't you go over there and volenteer to put the rubbers on all the men wanting sex! What an idiot!

Must be election season coming up. Need to get them
Democrats out of the Senate. In this case, the end may
justify the means.

Perhaps you would be so good as to point out to some of us ignorant souls, who believe that the President is limited by the Constitution--or should be--just where in either the New or Old Testament, there is any authority to take money given you as a solemn charge for specific purposes, and spend it for something else?

If you want to raise money for the relief of medical problems in other lands, as a form of Christian Charity, no one will oppose you. But to unilaterally appropriate public money to that effort is something very different.

So the Marshall plan was unconstitutional? Medical aid overseas can be easily be considered as part of foriegn policy.....it's not unconsitutional.

You're chasing your tail.

Your too far gone. Morality problem? Hardly. You need to travel a little bit and open your head to the world. Have you been out of your community?

I've gone too far? Someone whos been busted for dope 8 times is going to lecture me?

Sorry but maybe when your sucking on your bong enlighting yourself in an a Bob Marley haze and thinking about anal sex, you can tell me about its morality. Then you can tell me how $500 million is going to stop AIDs, or rape, or intervenious drug use. Still think its got nothing to do with morality?

They call it dope for a reason. Conservative, stoned and stupid is no way to live son!
