Actually, I don't think Simon should do a thing unless Davis' ads start impacting his negatives. The fact is, Davis' negatives are so high that Davis HAS to start campaigning this early to try and convince people he's done a good job when, in fact, everyone knows he hasn't.

There's also something else to consider: the hit against Simon has been torn apart by the LIBERAL media who have said that Davis has "misstated the facts" (you and I would call it a lie). Davis is called to the carpet for the very first hit ad ... losing credibility on the next ad. (There he goes again).

The fact is, people are just not focused on the campaign now. It's true. People are focused on DAVIS and how much they dislike him. They are going to be focused on DAVIS and the hole he ran California into financially over the next two months. We're not going to have a budget on time ... or even a few days late. It's going to be very, very late. Republicans aren't going to cave on taxes, and Democrats won't cut health programs.

It's going to be an interesting summer.

Needless to say, Simon SHOULD just quietly sit, working the grassroots, getting out to the communities, and let Davis take a beating. IF Davis' numbers start climbing THEN Simon can come out with both guns. Right now, it's a waste of money and would not do a damn thing to change the November election.
