The Bush-Gore plan to "reinvent government" is, in fact, nothing new. It is as old as tyranny itself - and that is exactly what the Bush-Gore plan is: a modern attempt to reinstall tyrannical government.
Oh god.. what a load of garbage.. Let me guess Sir Gawain. You're Libertarian, right? I would have never guessed.

Listen Sir Gawain if you think Bush is turning this into an Orwellian government where have you been for the past 40 years? with your head in the sand? Just imagine what Gore would have done if he were Pres. on 9/11. He would have ordered a few rocket strikes on Afganistan and then fought to make all the airlines a new Government Agency. Gore is a low grade idiot and never had an original thought in his whole miserable life.

Yada, yada, yada. Meanwhile our enemies circle plotting our deaths while their assistants moan, groan and wringe their hands.
Of course, we know that those who think like this author can be trusted to run and hide at the first trouble shrieking about their lost "rights."

As old as tyranny itself is the rush of sycophants and bondsmen to its defence.
Are you a sucker of the public teat, a chomping mouth at the good ol' taxpayer-financed trough?
I'll wager YES!

Nice try to educate and inform. You probably expected the reception the article got, so you (quite properly) won't take it personally. The GWB lapdogs in this crowd are so intellectually dishonest and disinterested it's appalling.
The most vociferous responses you have received so far have not addressed the point of the article. One called the article "garbage" without further explanation. One went into a passionate defense of the current administration and policy based on the fact that Al Gore would have been a disaster. True enough, but it doesn't address the article.
Hang in there, and don't let the bastards get you down.

And I will wager you are a brainless boob. That is evident.

It's common knowledge that I believe GWB is a dismal failure as a 'conservative' president. He was the RINO choice from way before the primaries and he has not let them down.
While it is obvious that our national police forces and intelligence gathering services failed us dismally for years .... culminating in the events of 9/11 ... it is not so obvious that a complete reorganization is going to do anything.
conservatives should take note that Allan Keys is quite disturbed by all the increased powers being given to the feds.
What is MOST disturbing to me is GWB's heavy handed willingness to turn the nation into a police state but at the same time do NOTHING about our outrageous immigration policies. AND this in the face of MASSIVE public outcry for immigration reform and a crackdown.I can not but be highly suspect of a president that allows 8,500 ME immigrants in here every month. What is he REALLY up to with this new super police fed agency?

I can only suggest you invest in a Don Rickles album; you definitely need NEW material.
Sad, really...

Chuck Baldwin is a crank. He wrote a couple of weeks ago that Bush is the Anti-Christ. The guy should be institutionalized.

Yeah...it's 'cranky'.
But there are those niggling concerns...;^)
To: Sir Gawain
I have been a frequent critic of Bush, even earning, and proud of it, the label of "Bush-basher".
In this case, I don't know that I disagree with the Bush plan if, as advertised, it reorganizes existing agencies in a way that will make them work more efficiently together. The temptation for any statist of course is to increase, not merely reorganize government power, so hopefully some important people will watch that carefully.
I am a bit concerned about this, but willing to proceed as we do face a great danger.
