To: Stand Watch Listen
On the other hand, I am not selling my home and moving into a rental nor am I selling my core stock holdings. I am trying to maintain a balance between optimism and pessimism.

I guess that I am more pessimistic than this writer, having already sold my house and moved to a rental, and been out of the stock market since January 2000...

The economy can recover without the stock market participating at all - too many people don't realize that the two are not synonymous. If the Dow returns all the way to the trendline it was on before 1985, it could finally stop dropping at about 600. What will they be saying on CNBC then? LOL!

I wonder how he will feel about his "core stock holdings" when we have Dow 6000 and his house's value drops 20% while his mortgage stays the same? Bet he'll be saying "Of course, no one could have predicted this!"
