Methinks that Davis has some problems ... case in point:
But Davis political strategist Garry South said that the campaign planned all along to begin its general-election advertising effort in June, five months before the November election. He said the race was closer coming out of the primary than the Field Poll reported in late April, when it said Davis had taken a 14-percentage point lead over Simon. The Simon campaign and others (not the press!) have been saying that the Field Poll was badly done and not reflective of anything ... considering that it was ALL ADULTS and not even REGISTERED VOTERS, let alone likely voters. Maybe now that the Davis campaign has said that the race is closer than the Field Poll, the media will start reporting the FACTS!
Notice how no one in the Davis camp is releasing any poll numbers? Think because they haven't done a poll? NOT!
Go Simon!!!!!
As to the need to shore up his base and omission of "polls", I think you are spot on. I know a plaintiff's lawyer that was shaken down (through his organization) for $2,000 personally, the organization giving $250,000. Davis' thugs called them thrice weekly until they got the money. While my lawyer acquaintence wants Davis to be reelected for obvious reasons, he loathes Davis and said that he personally could not bring himself to vote for Grayout. I made him promise he wouldn't and bet him $20 that Simon will win. Other anecdotal evidence is similar. Grayout is disliked by many, many 'Rats and $20 million in TV ads will not fix his negatives.
