Thank you for providing an excellent reminder of how the perpetual gripers never change. Always disappointed that a conservative utopia isn't reached in one fell swoop, never satisfied, first to complain, yet never seeming to offer a realistic blueprint to actually accomplish anything. Its their way or no way, harping on the shortcomings while totally ignoring all the positives.
There are Broken-Glass Conservatives, and then there are Broken-Record Conservatives.

These folks are self-appointed armchair analysts. I bet not a one of the gripers have every written a piece of legislation, ever amended a piece of legislation, or ever gotten a piece of legislation through a Democrat-controlled legislative branch. I have. Government and politics are a lot more complex than simply sitting around and trashing those in the arena.
"My way or the highway." If these whiners sit on their hands in the 2004 election, it will probably mean Bush loses 0.0013% of the votes he got in 2000. They are a pimple on the bum of the body politic.

"Actually you know what would make us "perpetual gripers" happy? If we could get a president who would simply do no harm. No one expects utopia.
If congress and the president would just stop trying to fix every little thing with a new law, a new agency, a new program. Just stop growing, intruding, taxing. Just stop! That would make us happy. Congress should be in session no more than 1 month a year and please, they need to follow the constitution.
