I'm stumped. What is W's plan?

I'd tell you what his plan is, but it is so deep and grand and wonderful, that even my mind can't grasp it. But don't worry, there are those here who will happily tell you how it will beat those nasty Dems!

A year ago, on a fishing trip, one of the guys, who thinks he is a socialist, asked what we all thought of the new president, so far. My reply was that he was further to the left than I had expected.

But, I'm still hoping...

I've read several portions of it, but not the whole thing. I find that it proposes us to do nothing different than we have been doing (good) but it basically stipulates that the "problem" exists (bad) and that human productivity causes or exasperbates the "problem" (bad).

You know me, MM, and you know that I get frustrated at times, but if a good argument can be made for why I should be patient I will gladly accept it. Can you give me a good reason why that should be the position of the administration? That global warming exists and is caused by man? I don't see any credible science to back it, and it needlessly validates the positions of the enviornmental extremists.

If one wants to say this is not a marked shift by the adminstration, I may be convinced but not mollified. I don't really care if this is a shift or not. It shouldn't be our position, regardless of if it is close to what our position has been or not.

It is obvious the New York Times has and has put their spin on it, which is wrong, if not outright lying.

How is Drudge's interpretation wrong?

All I have time for is a quick scan of the report, but I didn't see any change in Bush's position on Kyoto. Am I missing something?

So, uh, let me try to understand this...Drudge is now reporting on Rush in real time? I guess when there's nothing else to talk about it's easy to bash Bush.

"LIMBAUGH RIPS BUSH WHITE HOUSE OVER GLOBAL WARMING 'FLIP-FLOP'

"It appears to be the hijacking of conservatism," Rush Limbaugh charged to the nation's largest radio audience Monday after President Bush apparently flip-flopped over Global Warming. "George W. Al Gore," Limbaugh slammed, just hours after the NEW YORK TIMES headlined "Climate Changing, U.S. Says in Report."

"The TIMES revealed: "In a stark shift for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing specific and far-reaching effects that it says global warming will inflict on the American environment. "In the report, the administration for the first time mostly blames human actions for recent global warming." The report goes on to predict: A "disruption of snow-fed water supplies, more stifling heat waves and the permanent disappearance of Rocky Mountain meadows and coastal marshes."

"What's left of the conservative agenda that has not been offered up to democrats?" questioned Limbaugh, who has been an outspoken critic of the Global Warming theory.

This is the most strident criticism of the Bush Administration I've heard from Limbaugh to date and I must say I agree with Rush 100%!!! I'm not sure who Dubyuh's been listening to, but he needs to realize the damage he's doing to the support of those who would walk over hot coals to see Dubyuh successfully enact his Agenda...not the RATS!!

BTW, any minute now someone will be along to say Rush is a moron...

Yes, a couple of months ago the bots were praising Rush to high heaven. Now that he's shown a bit of a backbone they are mad at him. I guess he's not a party hack after all. I have a newfound respect for Rush. He CAN think for himself after all.

Yeah, Rush went off half-loaded on this subject, just as he did on the FBI reorganization. Had no clue what the facts were before he started pontificating on how bad/stupid/the-Republic-will-fall the changes were.

It's one thing to read the NYT to Rush's 13M (and falling?) listeners. It's another thing to present it as Gospel, rather than as an interpretation, possibly--no, likely---flawed, of the underlying report.

This knee-jerk whining is getting to me. I am sorry to see so many conservative media (Rush, Drudge, Newsmax, WND) go hyper in the face of falling ratings.

also, there is no moderation between statism and liberty. liberty ceases to exist when it is restricted, to any degree, barring anarchy, of course.

it is merely a matter of degree between one who believes the state has the authority to take or issue SOME rights, and one who believes the state has the authority to take or issue ALL or MOST rights. this is the choice you are faced with regarding the dems and repubs. think about it.

they both agree the state has the authority to take or issue some rights, they disagree only on which ones.

individual liberty believes that rights exist as a part of being man, or only from man himself, or God, but that they exist in man as man is.

I know, LOL at your assessment.

The W @$$-kissers make me sick.

It was the same way with his dad.

When he did the "let's stop the war and go home one hour before total victory and totally ridding the world of Saddam Hussein," in 1991, I was livid.

When I went nuts in '92 with the older Bush going back on "Read My Lips", many said, "hey, he's just going for the middle, you watch."

Right.

W thinks just because of the 'cut of his jib' or some other east coast crap, that conservatives are going to like what he does enough to reelect him.

Man, he is wrong.

Just as, you will recall, X41 was wrong.

W butt-kissers: Wake up and bash W on one of your "Pray for W" threads.

Say something like, "Pray for W so that he will pull his head out of his a$$ and start acting a little more conservative than Al Gore, for a change."

Then maybe the White House mole who is assigned to follow the FR website would tell W that he is, finally, down to alienting the last one hundred nonsenile W voters in the United States.

Wow, you said it, my friend. And it is so hard to "watch"---Rush flailing about without a compass. It betrays everything Rush has stood for because his principles are not guiding him very well at this moment. He is all over the map with his analysis and it stinks, both as a political commentary and as entertainment.

It must be as it is far too complex for my advanced intellect! :^)

If you can use your mouse to catch a popup that won't die, you can sometimes minimize it on your Windows screen. This way it is there and happy to be there, but it is out of the way and works for you to intercept other popups.
