What are you talking about?? I've been listening for over an hour, and that's EXACTLY what Rush has been saying about this latest idiocy. He's disgusted and p'o'd. Sounds to me that he's very close to being completely fed up. He said (paraphrased), "What other liberal issue is left to co-opt from the left as a means of "taking issues away from them"? Oh yes...the minimum wage. That's coming up this week too. And then there's always abortion..."

BTW, any minute now someone will be along to say Rush is a moron...

We just drove to Los Angeles from Lake Jackson (south of Houston). On the way we noticed the speed limit was 70 to 75 MPH. It is 55 in Houston area, and 8 surrounding counties. Yet, most of the surrounding towns in our area, Brazosport, and others -- are TINY almost rural towns, with little or no commerce, no industry, no heavy traffic, no pollution, etc. We got lumped into the Houston containment area by the TNRCC, a branch of the EPA. We have speed limits of 55 all over all 8 counties now. I drove through that area on May 14 and saw a handful of farm vehicles. It was friggin rural countryside, farms and tiny towns of a few hundred to a few thousand people. Yet we drove to LA on highways crowded with 18 wheelers and thousands of cars, through large towns with lots of industry, commerce, pollution. But they get to drive 70 - 75 since they aren't polluting the ozone? Yet Clute which has almost NO business, has no industry, about two cars driving down Main street in mid day, is polluting the atmosphere? If the EPA wants to do a good job and be respected, they should do a a better job of making sense. This makes as much sense as searching an 80 year old white haired woman in a wheelchair at airport security. I mean even if she had knitting needles, could a frail old woman overpower anyone? Good ole US gov.....

Well, there's subtle ripping, which is where I believe Rush has gone. And then there's old school give em hell ripping like he used to do with Clinton. I guess when I hear 'Rush is ripping' someone, I'd expect the latter.

So is this "Global Warming" the reason I have had two successive winters of 18" minimum to 30" maximum snowfalls, in an area that is supposed to only have 4" annually? If that is the case, I would hate to see what they might consider "normal".

They can't. That's precisely why they call all people who question Bush's methods Democratic Underground plants. They either do that or sit on their little "A Day in the Life of President Bush" threads and talk about how sexy the president looks in his jeans or how steely his eyes seem. They are no better than the Clinton sycophants.

Guess what? That's what 90% of the electorate is going to do as well. This is politics, not a debating society, and on those terms, this is a net-loss for Bush and conservatism, no matter how you slice this. Sheeple will read in USA Today or some other 3rd grade level rag that Bush has now signed on the environmentalist crusade against "global warming" or worse, believes it's happening and we caused it, but still won't go anything about it because of his corporate buddies. "Conservatives" who don't spend time reading sites like this will feel he "sold out" and libs will feel energized.

Who cares what the actual report says?

I do agree with you that Drudge has not been as careful as he should be and does sometimes look to be engaged in sensation-mongering (I'm sure his hit count goes up---and thus his bottom line goes up---whenever he posts something that frosts his reader base, i.e., conservatives.) (So if you want to lay some behaviorial modification on Drudge, refuse to click on his sensational headlines, come here to FR and read all about it instead.)

In this instance, however, I think Drudge's characterization of Rush's remarks were more correct than incorrect.

Rush did accuse Bush of a "flip flop," and there was talk on the show of whether this was as bad a "flip flop" as Bush the Elder's "no more taxes" debacle. Myself, I think that's a ridiculous comparison. Global warming is a rinky-dink, totally political-in-the-worst-sense-of-the-word, throwaway issue. Proponents can bleat about it all they want, but nobody is going to take your car away over it.

Rush irritates me as much as Bill O'Reilly, and Neal Boortz do. If you agree with them, fine. If you disagree with them you are BS. They see only their side of any issue. If you disagree with them, they immediately stoop to calling names and saying BS. At least I can honestly say I trust NO MAN. I am but a stranger here, Heaven is MY home!
