Gov. Gray Davis, now wrestling with a growing controversy over state contracts with Oracle Corp., has one more reason to be concerned about his re- election effort -- a new Field Poll showing more Californians disapprove of his job performance.

Made my day thinking of the weeping and gnashing of teeth there in Sacramento. "Hasta la vista, Gray, baby."

The best thing about this is it is bound to put Davis in panic mode. And we all know how well he withstands pressure. Oh boy, this could be really entertaining to watch. Sure wish I lived in Cali so I could work for Simon.

You can continue to make good replies here on FR and show your support.

Beside Kalifornia Konservatives, Simon will need donations from around the land.

Can you imagine the emotional boost if several hundred thousand out of staters sent even $5 to Simon's Campaign wishing him luck and success!

Defeating the criminal fascist, Benito Davis is important to every American who is not on the Rat subsidized voter rolls!

Good point. I will contribute. I just got a request from Jeb Bush so Simon shouldn't be far behind!

Hi Grandpa Dave. Can you tell me why Davis is 17 points ahead in the up-coming election? I no longer live in California and am astounded that his numbers are so high! Sandy Price

I can't get Tom unless I go to Putah Creek to fish. Then if I fish in the canyons, I lose the station.

Tom should be great. Please fill us in on what he as to say. As a conservative investment guy with real world experience as a cop, Tom can spot the Rat Criminals in suits faster than most of us. He knows how they like to spin their side of their criminal activities. He is great!

That is only in the crooked and biased Field Poll. Their own polls shows that he is losing support.

The Field Poll likes to poll during working hours. They will poll anyone. The valid poll companies only poll registered voters who will probably vote.

If you work, you probably will never hear from a pollster working for the Field Poll. I heard that they survey in most of their polls from about 10am to 3 pm and call home numbers naturally. I hung up on an a Field Poll, the pollster couldn't speak English during an evening poll about 3-4 weeks ago. I'm sure that if I had been fluent in the language south of the border, I would have had no problem. My wife hung up in similiar situation about 4 weeks before that. She has less patience than I do with people who don't speak English in jobs where they should speak English.

We never received any until the year after I retired. We get so many now, we just say no thank you. When they say if they are a polling company, I ask for permission to record the discussion. If they are not a legite polling firm, I will send the tape to the local da. Very few hang up, and they usually ask legitimate questions. When I detect left wing bias questions, I ask for the supervisor. When he/she/it comes on line, I tell them that I'm stopping the call due to left wing bias. If they do it again, I will block their calls.

During the Moniker licking and impeachment mess, we and our son who is not retired received a lot of calls wanting to survey us. When they found out that we were conservative Republicans, they would say thank you and hang up. I guess that they could only survey so many conservatives. When they reached their goal, no more conservatives were polled. Can't have reality getting in the way of agenda polling.

My wife is a very tolerant person until some calls her on the phone and can't speak English. She just says, "Good Bye!"

We will get less of these calls now that we have the Tele Zapper. Anyone that uses an electronic/computer dialing system gets zapped. We never answer my office/computer line phone anymore. We get 20 to 30 calls per day trying to sell us something. The zapper cancels them on the 4th ring, and the call does not make it to the message center. Great investment.

Would you remind us who your great party was in 2000, its candidate and how many votes your candidate/party got in 2000, particuliarly in Califonia!

Why yes. I mistakenly voted a straight Republican ticket in California.

As The Who says,"We won't get fooled again."

The important thing is that we don't become complacent between now and November. We have SIX MONTHS before the election ... that's a along time to "forget" all the bad things that Davis has done, or to "accept" them (not us, but the voters). Sometimes when this garbage comes out too early, people tend to minimize the scandals by election day.

Fortunately for Simon (unfortunately for the rest of us), there is still a lot of room for mistakes from Davis' operation. We have a projected $22 billion budget deficit (net loss of $35 billion, thank you Mr. Davis); we have billions of dollars in long-term energy contracts taxpayers are still on the line for; and we have Oracle-gate, which won't be going away overnight.

Davis has got to go. He's corrupt and cares about one thing and one thing only: power. That's why fundraising is his favorite and more important activity.

Dump Davis! Go Simon!

Davis IS NOT 17 points up on Simon. The Field Poll claims that Davis is up 14 points on Simon, but there are major problems with that poll:

1) The poll was taken among ALL ADULTS (not registered voters) the week after the Simon tax return debate and BEFORE the Oracle debate and BEFORE the budget deficit was projected at even higher.

2) Even among ALL ADULTS, Davis' unapproval rating was 49% to 42% ... among SELF-IDENTIFIED registered voters it was 55% unapproval. There were no crosstabs or comparisons to actual voter rolls to see if these people were actually registered.

3) Davis ONLY got 43% in the Field Poll, hardly a resounding sign of support.

4) Every other private poll released by Simon AND third-parties not affiliated with Simon (including a Democrat-controlled union) has Simon up.

5) The Field Poll had Simon up by six just before the primary and Simon won by more than 18 points. Sounds like they have major polling errors, doesn't it?

6) You don't hear Davis touting the poll numbers, do you? You would think that he would be beating them over the heads of everyone, but in fact he has been remarkably silent ... he knows they are 1) not accurate and 2) not good.

Go Simon! Dump Davis!

Your Wisdom is great here: The important thing is that we don't become complacent between now and November. I have a friend who feels that the Davis media will dump this stuff now and try to paint him as a good governor, later, when he fires about 6 flunkies and rejects the contract. Then, they and Davis will hope that the average Kali voter will forget this.
