(Dan Burton, [R-Indiana] Investigating) Allegations that Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh is tied to Islamic terrorists.
McVeigh the story goes, met in an Oklahoma City motel with Iraqi agents before the 1995 explosion.
Part Two: Unsubstantiated reports that two 9/11 hijackers holed up with the suspected 20th hijacker Zacarais Moussaoui in the same motel room last July.
Coincedence?
Sources say Burton sent investigators to Oklahoma City to sniff around, tasked three staffers to the probe, and asked David Schippers, who led a house panel on Bill Clinton's impeachment, to advise.
But that's not all:Burton wants more staff.
While there's a lot of circumstantial evidence to investigate, like an allegation that the FBI stopped an agent from looking into the Iraqi angle, the feds say it is a waste of money.

Bedard told me last year on the phone that a source of his who worked for Asst Sec of Defense Paul Wolfowitz told Bedard that McVeigh was an Iraqi agent, had Iraqi phone numbers on his possession at the time of his arrest by higway patrol officer Charles Hanger, and that the Pentagon believed that the FBI had withheld evidence from the Pentagon on these matters. This is consistent with what Pentagon terror advisor Jesse Clear told me in 1996 and the legasl counsel for the Senate Judiciary in my presence in December 1997. It is known that an envelop of items in McVeighs car had been taken by Hanger to his home before they were turned over to the FBI.
Since talking to me, Bedard has denied to several journalists (including William Jasper of the New American) that he ever told me that he brought up Wolfowitz's name even though he told reporters he stood behind the rest of the story. I received a nasty call from a reporter from the Daily Oklahoman (Nolan Clay)in OKC after posting the story on the FR angrily denying the Bedard story. Shortly therafter Bedard denied the Wolfowitz connection had been mentioned to me.
I fully stand by my reporting of what Bedard said to me about Wolfowitz. I do not know if Beddard made it up or if in fact that Bedard had a source working for Wolfowitz as Bedard told me. Given the calls from the Daily OK I suspect that someone put pressure on Bedard (FBI,DOJ, Wolfowitz, Bush admin or ?)
Also, Burton did in fact send Marc Chretian out of town last week (probably to OKC) to investigate the OKC case based on what I was told by Burton's staff. There is an OKC journalist working wiith Schippers and Chretian . The motel mentioned in the story is the same motel investigated by the journalist in OKC and has been reported before in OKC on several unrelated local news outlets. I have had difficulty in having my info considered adequately by Chretian and Schippers when I approached them .
Schippers said in an interview posted on FR in March 2002 that a 9/11 hijacker pilot had been at a motel with a friend of the Iraqi suspect Al Hussaini (OKC bombing)two weeks before the 9/11 attacks. When I approached Schippers office to correct some of accidental errors he made with the info he put out in his interview (found with the help of several other FR posters in public replies), I was told that Schippers had said I did not know what I was talking about.
Schippers story in the interview is part of the same story that is mentioned by Bedard in this post and refers to the same motel in my opinion.

"The rush to execute McVeigh may have been another Clinton coverup." I despise klintoon as much as the next person but the execution of scumbag McVeigh took place in June 2001, almost 6 months after klintoon was out of office.
Clinton, Bush; same difference.

Wolfowitz is itchy to nuke Iraq, so fo course he played up the Iraqi angle. He's probably since told to Bedard to deny the attribution if he wants continued "access."

Time to start Freeping Burton et al. Here's a list of members on the Government Reform Committee, along with the address. You can also e-mail, with a little navigation.

That is pretty serious stuff....is there a copy of the interview in the hands of that attorney?
I don't know. But even though I lived in Stillwater when the OKC bombing happened,
I only started hearing substantive talk of conspiracy when it was about time to
execute McVeigh. Only then did I hear that McVeigh's original attorney, Steven Jones,
really thinks McVeigh was just a foot soldier, not the brains of the operation.
And that Judge Matsch had even dangled lots of goodies in front of Nichols (and I think McVeigh)
to give up any other co-conspirators.
I haven't read it, but here's the title to the attorney's book (be sure to
get the later editions/revision from 1998; I understand Jones could speak more freely
about his former client than he could in the first edition.)
Others Unknown: Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City Bombing Conspiracy
by Stephen Jones, Peter Israel
And, at your liesure, this is a good, but long read from "American Jihad" author
Steven Emerson.
Read at least the first couple pages...It blew my mind to see what he stumbled onto
on Christmas Day 1992 in downtown OKC...

That would BE his death warrant!

Schippers was too busy to work for Burton on this. So, they need more staff, huh? The best staff in the country will be thousands of FReepers.

"The fact is it would take at least 3 months to move supplies into an op zone." From John Gibson's My Word on Fox News, Friday, April 26,2002:
"On this very program last Friday, Col. David Hackworth said that we have 100,000 or so troops in Kuwait. I've got reason to believe that he's either right, or will be right."
"That sounds to me like President Bush is getting ready to break out of his Israeli-Palestinian malaise, and do something about Iraq."
"Why? Because all of the best information indicates that Saddam is building a gigantic bomb chem, bio, nuke
take your pick but something big and nasty."
Dan Burton better get moving.

Well stated.

I've heard the Iraqi phone number story too..wasn't McVeighs day planner on him at the time of arrest? (with the second car that was pulled over that no one wants to talk about of course..)
And the 'little black book' suddenly disappears with the Iraqi numbers in it -naturally! (confiscated 2-3 days later by the FBI)

According to Bill Gertz of the Washington Times Saddam may already have the dirty bomb in place.
At least we have spread out radiation detectors all over the country and the borders to monitor for a possible attack.
If Sadaam goes aggressive, we will strike.

GG, this writer:

has done some good work, back in December, on OKC. I have not heard from him since. FYI, FWIW!

I put a photo of Atta/John Doe #2 up in my office right after 9/11. I don't know why, but for some reason people are starting to notice it now. People were oblivious to it after 9/11, but now I get probably 2 or 3 comments a week about it.

He probably has some credibility with the 10% of nut cases at the frothing John Birch Society end of the party. Other than that most people gave up on him three or four scandals ago. Ask any of your non-political friends what they think of him. It wont be pretty.
