There may have been some misunderstanding, she said
The misunderstanding was when California voters were led to believe they were electing a sane, honest, competent leader in 1998. Of course, we got none of that when we elected Gray Davis Governor.

The misunderstanding was when California voters were led to believe they were electing a sane, honest, competent leader in 1998. No doubt the same Californians who overwhelmingly voted for Clinton ... twice!

Let me get this straight. This guy built an addition on his house with money he didn't have based on wishful thinking and some information he managed to badger out of Gray Davis?

I cant feel very sorry for any teacher naïve enough to believe what some politician promises especially a democrat like Davis.
To: ElkGroveDan
You got a great glimps of these robot democrate voters who by class are stupid - who goes out a put money on the line from a single conversation from a Dem pol? Then, again, for being stupid can't understand that they were the ones that did the deed but can't confront it so they sue as a victim. See why Billy & Hillary treat them so bad & they keep coming back & voting for them in bigger numbers.

This story breaks my heart.

Pelfrey says he got some bum information from the governor And what else is new for Grayout these days?
To: ElkGroveDan
A scumbag union teacher believes the governor who has lied and cheated everyone and is mad? The jerk voted for him; his union dues paid for Davis' highlife and to pay minority voters to vote frquently and he is mad? Imagine how the rest of us who knew what Davis was like before the sleazy teachers helped put him in office, feel.

Have you seen this?

"Now, Pelfrey says he feels "this hollow spot in my stomach." He listened to and believed a politician!? It's Amazing that He doesn't also feel the "hollow spot" in his head.
To: ElkGroveDan
After all we know about Davis, this guy is an idiot for believing anything Davis said.
And he's also an idiot, because he was 'counting his chickens before they hatched' and now blames someone else for the consequences.

Greedy teachers. Central Valley secondary school teachers already make about $40 grand a year -- and that's a nine-month year. Money, not kids, is all they care about.
At least many of the so-called "money-grabbing" corporations they hate so much have programs that actually benefit chill'run. But not the parasitic members of the NEA.
They are true socialist scum.
They would walk over their own mothers to make a buck. I am tickled pink to see another true socialist scum, in the guise of (do socialist scum EVER come unclothed in a misrepresentative guise?) caring governor, walking all over them. There is no honor among thieves.
To: ElkGroveDan
Actually, this teacher and his other socialist teaching peers will still vote for Davis!
SIMON, THE SANE ONE!
To: ElkGroveDan
So. The guy hears he is to get a bonus. He starts the project without first having the money in hand. I'm supposed to be aghast at his dilemma.
Yeah.

The dissembling media has established a style. That style is that every story should have a victim. The problem is that this story violates a universal truth, by definition a Democrat is a victimizer, and when two fellow Democrats get together you have victimizers, and two victimizers does not a victim make.
To: ElkGroveDan
Misunderstanding? Not.
Now, to give Davis the benefit of the doubt, I would concur that the Governor couldn't possibly remember every conversation. That's fine. However, while IN a conversation, he should at least tell the truth! Typical liberal, if he doesn't know something, tell the voters what he thinks they want to hear.
I feel bad for Mr. Pelfrey, but he learned his lesson, I'm sure: never believe a word Gray Davis tells you.
Go Simon!

On the strength of the governor's word, Pelfrey said, he embarked on construction of a garage at his house in Penn Valley. He had spent $1,200 or so on leveling the back yard and putting in concrete forms when he learned from his union that the bonuses, in fact, were gone. Guess this proves that having a college education doesn't necessarily mean you are smart.
Who plans things based on a promise, especially a promise made by a politician?
This guy was/is an idiot. But Davis feels his pain [bite lip]...oh, and thanks for the vote, sucker.
