America needs a healthy influx of immigrants. That has always been one of this country's strengths.

Maybe so. Why are you advocating an influx of unhealthy ones however?

And Mexico? what does Mexico need? Do you really believe the answer for Mexico is for every last one of it's citizens to pack their bags and make their way north of the Rio Grande (or Rio Bravo to them)?

But always with a limit as to what we need. Never up to the breaking point. I can't expect the immigrants to understand that but Americans should. The very thing that makes America a great country is also what would be broken if immigration was unlimited. We wouldn't be that "paradise" anymore but just another run down has been almost 3rd world country.

In simple terms, liberal policies sound and feel good but they are unworkable. They always kill the goose.

I'm essentially in agreement with you. I agree that it is morally right that we should open our borders or block out that piece of hypocracy at the Statute of Liberty.

The situation is different now than during previous waves of immigration. Can you propose a workable policy that would prevent the third worlders who are steeped in Marxism from importing that impoverishing ideology here? Can you envision any way to forma coalition that would support such policies. Both libs and conservatives are pretty unified on opposing open boarders.

You didn't happen to read George Guilder's "Weath and Poverty" did you? I came away from reading that with most of my opinions changed about immigration.
