I'm essentially in agreement with you. I agree that it is morally right that we should open our borders or block out that piece of hypocracy at the Statute of Liberty.

The situation is different now than during previous waves of immigration. Can you propose a workable policy that would prevent the third worlders who are steeped in Marxism from importing that impoverishing ideology here? Can you envision any way to forma coalition that would support such policies. Both libs and conservatives are pretty unified on opposing open boarders.

You didn't happen to read George Guilder's "Weath and Poverty" did you? I came away from reading that with most of my opinions changed about immigration.

No I didn't read it. But I am a little concerned that some have such little faith in America. Is our country so weak that we have to keep everyone out, instead of relying on the forces that motivated our ancestors? If that is the case, then America was never that strong to begin with.
