Open America's borders now!!!!
Me | Now | Me

Posted on 04/06/2002 10:29:59 PM PST by paul544

I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

But I got the impression you would rather not vote than vote for Bush.

I never said that. Do a search, and show me where I did. What I did was attempt to address your original question.

You say you weren't talking about activism vs. non-activism? Nonsense. The reason I responded to you was because you questioned Freepers' commitment to doing something.

Your post:

That is soooo easy to say living here. Could you change this country? No. Easier said than done. It is so easy to have others do what you yourself are not able or willing to do. For example. All you people on FR do is bitch and moan about how terrible America is becoming. Yet that is all you do. Why don't you do something about this country? Right. Beacause it is easier to make excuses and demand others do it for you.

That's what I replied to you about, and you took it down a sideroad.

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, because you've been around for a while, and have a photo of Pres. Reagan on your homepage, presumably bringing Xlinton to account.

We're going around in circles here.

But what do you mean by "our culture"? What was "our culture" when my family came from Italy? America is what people make it, from wherever they happen to come from.

Although many cultures comprise American culture, our culture is one that is distinct from most others.

When your family came from Italy, I'm more than sure that they continued to speak their native language and kept their customs. But I also think that they understood that their children must take part in the overall culture and learn English. Today, we have tons of immigrants here who have absolutely no intention of assimilating and becoming truly American. Right here in Texas, for example, immigrants from Mexico can get by without ever learning one English word. How is that good for America? It isn't.

Nothing irks me more than to go through a drive-thru window where the person behind the counter can't understand me and I can't understand him or her.

If You don't liker that, tough cookies!!!!

Sir; Are you stupid or what. I was almost killed by an illegal. And why should we give amisty[sorry about the spelling] to those who broke our laws. What about all those who are trying to come here the right way, by following the law? Just rember when all is said and done all is left is just the rule of law. What we need to do is put a bounty on the head of every illegal alien and let the public deal with it. If the Fereral Goverment can't or WON'T deal with this problem, then we [the citzens of this country] will deal with this diaster in the making!! Respectfully Mike Suchman PATRIOT!!!

Howdy

Why on earth has a worthless exercise like this thread not been terminated? Someone's asleep at the switch.

The People of the United States of America have the absolute right to set immigration policy, foreign aid policy and formulate diplomatic relations in whatever manner serves the purposes and preferences of the citizens of the United States of America, just as the citizens of Mexico do in their own country.

Erasing our borders is erasing our soverignty, a fool's errand.

Freedom and prosperity are synonymous, if Mexico and the rest of the world chose to accord their citizens as great a degree of freedom as that Americans enjoy, a greater measure of prosperity would follow. The fact that they choose less freedom and less prosperity is not the fault of America, prosperity, industriousness, freedom, these are not sins for which we owe Mexico penance.

But the absurd contention that the citizens of the USA should be deprived of any voice in immigration and foreign aid policy as if we were some kind of dictatorship is an irrelevant exercise in stupidity, at this moment our border with Mexico is quietly being militarized.

Tuberculosis, violent crime, drug shipments, abuse of free medical care causing hospitals to go bankrupt in droves, flooding of the criminal justice system, massive electoral fraud, disasterously massive fraud and abuse of social welfare programs, all of these ills eventuate from the out of control situation on our border with Mexico, and as our government has not chosen to fulfill its absolute mandate to protect and defend the American People, the blood of American citizens who die as a direct result of our failure to control our border is on the hands of the elected officials who failed us.

I am all for immigration, and I like the notion of helping our backward fellow nations down south to enter the seventeenth century, but the People of the United States run this show, not some merry band of power mad dictators with an agenda unrelated to the well being of the citizens who work so hard to provide the largesse you'd be so happy to deprive us of for the betterment of ouor southern neighbors.

Why not strive to export the freedom that produces prosperity rather than seek to dedicate and sacrifice American lives to providing our prosperity to people unwilling to create their own?

Our new administration knows well how utterly the previous administration failed in its duty to protect us, which is why our border is quietly, steadily being sealed by the US Army.

Enough Americans have died as a consequence of the asinine politics of the left.

But you are using the war on terrorism as an excuse to shoot anyone crossing the Rio Grande. You wrap your hatred in an American flag and call in patriotism.
