Open America's borders now!!!!
Me | Now | Me

Posted on 04/06/2002 10:29:59 PM PST by paul544

I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

There really is no need to. This is not about activism vs. inactivism. I have no doubt you are active in the political process and are to be commended for it. But I got the impression you would rather not vote than vote for Bush. Take a look around FR lately? So many threads are permeated with that kind of talk.

Do you honestly believe for a single second that ANY people don't want to better themselves? Come on. When given the chance, people will always gravitate towards better things.

No you actually seem to be blinded by childish nitpicking.

No, but this just goes to show that this is not exclusive to any one group, but is happening all over with any ethnic group. No reason to pick on Mexicans.

It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

I'm not accusing you of actually being one, but that statement of yours is Marxist at its core. Maybe you meant that it's wrong to deny people from the opportunity to create wealth instead of "sharing" it.

And what about those ancestors that did not come here legally? Since we all know your family all came here legally, what do you suppose we do with those that didn't? Kick their great grandkids out?

I do believe you came to a thread deciding to disrupt it, do to the fact that you are clueless and can do nothing but call names in a feeble attempt to get this thread shut down.

I had thought that way until September 11,2002. Now I understand there might be some folks that want to kill me. The USA is the land of opportunity...to walk in and kill Americans. The constitution is not a suicide pact. Believe me I am a registered Liberterian and I will probably switch to the GOp after seeing the nonsense the liberterians have been spouting. I am all for Racial profiling and giving big guns to airline pilots...yes big ass guns like a casull 454. I say we shut off our border with mexico on May 5th.

I meant the opportunity to share in the wealth. I meant nothing like "giving" away anything. Hope I cleared it up.

QUITE TRUE. QUITE TRUE.

AND THEY'VE BEEN AT IT FOR MANY DECADES VERY SUCCESSFULLY.

And we have fallen for it. We have. Not our dogs. Not our tomatoes. We have. . . at least too many of our neighbors and others we have too passively allowed to "do their thing" without meaningful or instructive comment.

Sorry but I don't agree. I really do think that some Americans are so bothered by an America that does not look like them. Call it racism, call it bigotry, call it OK, but it is the way it is.

I thought that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure. At any rate, I agree with immigration in time-windows, with a moratorium on it when those windows are not open. Immigrants must be assimilated into our culture before we allow another mass to flow through.
