Gray Davis In Newspaper Temper Tantrum
It didn't get much press, but California Gov. Gray Davis had what sounded like an emotional meltdown the other day, during an interview with the San Diego Union Tribune.
Sounding extraordinarily defensive about bungling the state's energy crisis, Davis barked at a Tribune reporter, "I saved this friggin' paper. I kept the lights on in this state. Do you understand that? I kept the lights on."
When the scribe's gratitude for Davis' Herculean efforts wasn't immediately forthcoming, the California Democrat expanded on his rant, according to Fox News Channel's Brit Hume.
"I should at least get a round of applause [but] I don't get squat," Davis complained. "People just roundly criticize me."
Then, in a comment reminiscent of fellow Californian Richard Nixon, the emotionally overwrought governor whined, "This was worse than being in Vietnam. This was a full-out war against me."

My Gawd,
Read that last line again and ponder it for a second.
Now imagine for a minute that any, ANY, Republican had said that.
Grey Davis has fot to go, if their is any sanity anywhere.

I wish he'd take his ball and go home.

This tizzy fit was worse than I thought. He's got a temper problem, not a people person.
It's a shame his poll numbers are as bad as his BS.

"I should at least get a round of applause [but] I don't get squat," Davis complained.Believe me, Guv, if we have OUR way you WILL get "squat" in November....Please be patient.

I'm offended at the gratuitous assault on Mr. Nixon by lumping him with Davis. Nixon was
far more intelligent and composed than Davis the Despot.
Gray Davis doesn't have ANY redeeming qualities!
Unless of course you consider paranoid psychopathy a "redeeming quality"...

I'd like to give him squat.
That's about all the pathetic whiner deserves.
The thought of having him re-elected gives me the squats.

To: Michael.SF.; let freedom sing
"let freedom sing" appeared to be trying to be helpful, not critical.
If I hadn't seen the other articles, I would be glad to have a link to see the comments posted for a similar article.
Each newspaper writes its own titles, so similar articles are easy to miss, but they help compare bias, point out where certain editors omitted particular details, or just provide a different analysis. It's nice to link between the articles to compare them.
Keeping the original title helps us avoid duplicate posts of identical articles.
You can lengthen and clarify the title by adding your own title after the original title, but please keep the original spelling in future posts.
