That's nonsense. Simon's record in California is a disaster. He pissed millions of taxpayers dollars down the drain, right there in the open for everyone to see. If he had done NOTHING whatsoever about the enery "crisis", the State would be much, much better of financially. The one thing people hate is to witness abject incompetence. Davis would lose to almost anyone, IMO. Even Simon.

The bills we get in our mail box for energy are back down (for gas), or otherwise not up. Davis will blame it on Wilson. Simon will gain overall from this issue, but it is not a killer, and other issues are out there. You do know that Simon paid 30 K to Lou Sheldon don't you? I can't think of anyone off hand that is most subject to demonization with the bulk of California voters. Why Simon did that is a mystery.
