Where do you get the concept that an ex-president can be re-impeached by the House and tried and convicted in the Senate?

It's my own dream, don't know if it's theoretically possible or not. (Unfortunately, nothing is likely to be done by Congress or the courts).

However, the USSC has ruled that impeachment is pretty much what Congress makes of it (in particular, they refused to get involved when the Senate 'trial' was basically conducted by a committee). Also, there's no statute of limitations. And finally, would a bribery conviction in court stop his pension? If not, then I think congress would have to impeach.

It's amazing how much case law is a direct result of x42!

He wasn't "ex-" when this happened. "Abuse of power" is an impeachable offense, even if there is no criminal action accompanying it. Since impeachment is a political and not a judicial activity, the toughest penalty it can proved is removal from office upon conviction.

Since the slimebag is out of office, yet the alleged offense occurred while he was still in office, conviction would result in loss of pension, loss of Secret Service protection, and a lifetime ban on all federal elected office.

The klinton krime kartel is too powerful to allow that to happen, but it still does my heart good to think that there could be another impeachment hanging over his head.
