E-mails, writing letters, contacting talk shows, etc. have worked sometimes. Might work now if we put in the extra effort.

¿Are we looking at Dems and other Bush-haters in Repub clothing on this thread? The operatives are getting slicker all the time, or so it seems.
Anyway, we can root out all the illegals and deport them ASAP -- raise your hand if you think that's ever going to happen.
We can keep them illegal and perpetuate the Underground Economy -- which is draining us and we are all paying the bill.
We can make the illegals living here legal and part of the tax paying mainstream since we didn't have the will to keep them out in the first place -- it's the cost of not being vigilant.
We can get serious about stopping this problem and take the necessary steps to end it --- from this point on. Unfortunately, we can't undo what has been done -- we can't unexplode a bomb.

It presumably also would require the person to have been in the United States by a certain date and have filed a declaration with the INS from an appropriate sponsor, such as a relative or employer, AND PAY A $1,000 PENALTY.Yeah, right. LOL. The only one that will be out a grand are the taxpayers.

The initial Bush proposal, designed exclusively for Mexicans,GW, how dare you play favorites. Designed exclusively for Mexicans? If millions of Mexicans can come here and flout our laws and be rewarded for it, I demand that right for billions around the world. (sarcasm)

What are the alternatives concerning the illegals already here? (Future illegals have to be addressed separately.)
A President (Bush, or his successor?) will get the credit for making them legal and bringing them out of the underground economy and into the mainstream. Or a President (Bush?) will get the blame for perpetuating this bad ststus quo.

Get on the phone people. Call your Congress persons office today. There may be staff in their offices on the weekend. Keep calling until this comes up Tuesday. Call everybody you know and inform them about this issue before Tuesday, March 12. Call your talk radio stations and get on the air. The American public has to be informed about what Congess is trying to sneak into the visa tracking bill.

Here are the media contact numbers to inform the public of the inpending 245(i)that congress is going to shove down our throats.
Media Contact Numbers
Personally, I find that the Shawn Hannity Radio Show is easy to get through to and C-Span as well. I expect many here to be clogging the phone lines on Monday. One of us should be able to get on the air. Keep trying and hit that redial button on your phone

Forgot this one. Get the message out on 245(i)

"The president hailed it as a way to reunite family, separated by the border." So, send them back to reunite them with their families! If they cared that much fot their families they wouldn't have left them in the first place.

If Mexicans here illegally can get an amnesty to stay in this country, can I as a US citizen get an amnesty later if I decide to stop paying my taxes? I mean, fair's fair; if Mexicans can pick and chose which of our laws they are going to obey, then so should I...

Hey, what happened to Dane. I was really enjoying all of Dane's stories about the highly skilled illegal alien lettuce pickers and how they are so indispensable to the survival of the United States as the world's only superpower. If I remember correctly, didn't the Roman empire fall because of a lack of highly skilled illegal alien lettuce pickers?

This country is toast.
Bush will escalate the war to such a level, we shall be obliged not to notice any domestic actions.
We shall look like Lebanon, Israel & the Balkins combined, in a few short years.
I shall BURN my voter registration card & mail the ashes to the RNC. Nothing we do matters any longer. They have complete control over all affairs.

Now its amnesty for illegals. What crimnal group will get amnesty next? Counterfitters? Burglars? You can bet it won't stop here. >P>Seems after the Clinton pardon scandals and 9/11, any normal politician would not be talking about amnesty for criminals.
