Could you start a new thread on just this?

I second RNmomof7's suggestion that the summit be discussed on a second thread, unless we're trying for some kind of a record, here.

I watched a bit of that this afternoon. Horrifying. How did they get that many maniacal scumbags in the same place at the same time?

"If you believe in family values, if you understand the worth of family and the importance of family."

Aren't these criminals free to rejoin their families in Mexico anytime they want to? I don't understand. Nice try W.

We believe in laws.

"It is lunacy — sheer lunacy — that the president would request, and the House would pass, such an amnesty at this time. That point seems obvious to the American people, if not to the administration," Mr. Byrd said on the Senate floor.

Your exactly right, of course. As far as I know, the quote is accurate. It shows G.W.'s flawed thinking behind this whole Alien Amnesty thing and the Steel Tarrif. I support the tarriffs, but not the end-run around the Constitution.

Regardless of how much we like Bush, we can't allow him to take away power from our Legislative Branch...because we won't like it when Hillary does the same thing in 2008.

Tancredo said ... He is encouraged because he feels that the lion has roared.

Excellent! Does this mean Washington might actually be listening?

I already made my Senator lie about knowing anything about this bill. His (RHINO John Warner of VA) aide told me on the eve of this vote. he "KNEW NOTHING". Well he should have!

John Warner is running for re-election this fall in VA UNCONTESTED and our Repubbies are herding us along to the polls to insure the bad DEMs don't get votes. This is a good example of the opportunity we need to get counted.

There is NO threat of "giving it to the evil Dems" in this race but we could prove to be a painful splinter the Republicans can not ignore nor take for granted. If we could show anything over 5%, it would label us as a force to be recconed with in close elections in the future...

We can't win in the close elections for we will be labeled as "spoilers" even when the RINOS have lost the hand themselves (as they did in the last Govorner's race in VA).

I got the impression that Bush was backing off based on this (#2658) and other posts on this thread and others from other threads as well. But tonight on Fox it sounds like it is full speed ahead. Did I misunderstand something?

"Opposition to illegal immigration equals support of eugenics - one of the most absurd statements that I have read here"

Why would sombody make such an ignorant statement...just because we don't want our neighborhoods to all look like Nogales? I agree with you. It is ludicrous!
