He did vow to move out of the country if Bush won and we all saw the video tape of him saying that. Someone asked him on tape what he would do if Bush won and he replied, "leave the country."

Jeb brought that up the other day and Baldwin stated he never ever said something like that. He's a typical Rat lier.

Gov. Bush really had Alec on the defensive with that! And, Alec blew it... as the NY Post's Page Six also noted yesterday. :)

summer, thanks for the note about the posting.

I agree with this comment, Alex is irrelevant and has proven himself to be one of the few actually brain-dead people able to walk and talk. Nothing personal summer.

And I guess I am also, as mentioned in a couple posts here, tired of the hailing of appointments of "diverse" people. If they are qualified, great, focus on that. IMHO, focusing on the race of the individuals appears to be pandering and conceding the premise to the Liberals that it is race that counts, not qualifications. When good conservatives concede such a premise to the Libs, it only serves to add credibility to their race baiting and quota demands.

Thanks for the "ping" summer. Your posts are always worth reading. I'm more of a listener than a talker, so don't be discouraged if I don't always chime in.

Good for him- the men- and their families- who pilot the big rigs across America are part of what makes this a great country.

-- appointments should not be made based on the ethnic origin of a person. That is why I think these appointments by Gov. Bush are great -- he chose people highly qualified.

Well said, summer; and I agree. People should not be chosen, FOR ANY JOB, "because of:" their race, creed, color, sex, weight, height, hair or eye color, smile to frown ratio, number of blinks in an hour, . . . which are all equally ludicrous. QUALIFICATIONS, and only qualifications, should be considered. And, obviously, the best qualified person for a particular job, which may require a particular TEMPERAMENT, should be the SOLE reasons why a selection is made from among many candidates. This elevates no particular race, sex, or creed, just the best person for the job. Sounds to me that that's exactly what Gov. Bush is trying to do. Kudos to him.

Thanks for the post. Good to see our elected officials decently conducting the business of government. My sense is of an inexorable steam-roller simply going about its business, oblivious to critics.

Bump!

Re your post #172 - Thanks for your thoughtful post, John. And, believe me, I don't take anyone's insults about Alec "personally" just because I was once a registered Dem voter! :)

And, I understand the point you are making, as Dakmar also made that point. But, here is where I would take issue with you: when conservative leaders appropriately go about their business, choosing the most highly qualified people -- and say nothing about it.

Because, IMO, other voters and other people -- perhaps not conservatives, but disillusioned Dems and independent/swing voters -- need to KNOW about the kind of appointments being made by someone like Gov. Bush. They may not realize his judicial appointments consist of highly qualified people -- who ALSO happen to resemble Florida. I think there's nothing wrong with telling those who may not expect it: Yes, this IS the normal course -- HIGHLY QUALIFIED -- and, yes, that DOES include highly qualified white, Koreans and blacks.

I guess I am just trying to say: It may not be news to you, but don't keep it a secret, because that silence enables opponents to paint people like Gov. Bush in a way that is not accurate with respect to his actions.

That's just my own opinion... my own 2 cents here. :)

What a sweet post. Thank you for your kind words. And, for taking the time to share that about yourself, FairWitness. Believe it or not, I too would rather listen sometimes! :)
