Good article, and a concise explanation which will not be accepted by the pacifists, the leftists, and the terminally clueless, but nevertheless is true.

Freedom in both expression and economics seems to be the formula for prosperity. Freedom bump. Just because certain people hate us for certain policies doesn't make those policies wrong: The Nazis had a distaste for American democracy. Therefore, they tried to screw with us. We killed them.

I don't like THEM. I don't like the way they treat their women, I don't like the way they treat their fellow citizens in general. Do my feelings allow ME to fly a jet into one of their buildings? Would my feelings JUSTIFY that action? After all.....my feelings are just as strong as theirs. The fact that they HAVE no large buildings, not withstanding.

Thank you Paul Mulshine.
Every other day, it seems, there is another "Why they hate us" article driveling the same we're rich-their poor, it's our fault-they are victims venom.
We are what we are, thanks to our Founding Fathers who gave us the foundations of freedom and liberty, to our forefathers (and foremothers--pc, ya know) who settled and developed the land, to all those brave military and non-military heroes who fought to keep our freedom.
Seems we even have a few former Presidents who spread that same venomous "hate us" rhetoric.
Hopefully, Sept. 11 awakened us to our greatness and blessings as a Nation. And may we stand proud. To do otherwise would be to dishonor the Founding Fathers, the forefathers/mothers, our selves, our children, and future generations of Americans.

This is a real problem. Either we have to change or they have to change. I vote for them. Bump.

"Americans on both the right and left tend to have so thoroughly accepted our concept of individual rights that they are incapable of conceiving of any other system."
Bubble bursting time: The left is more into GROUP rights than individual rights. Carry on.

bump for being right, both factually and politically.

The apparently wrong-headed attitude of the Muslim masses is not something for us to wish away, or try to coax them out of by accommodating to their whims. It does not work with a four-year-old child, and it will not work with those who have demonstrated a closed mind on the subject.
What works is an uncompromising stand for the rightness of our cause. The four-year-old does not possess the necessary judgment to present a convincing argument, but they do understand stern measures. The child may not like it, there may even be loud objections, but eventually the child's will is simply overwhelmed, if only because you are bigger and carry a much larger reservoir of determination. Likewise, the Muslim masses may object to our greater strength, but ultimately they too, submit. They may never love us, but they d*amned sure will respect us. And Respect beats Love as a moral imperative by a factor of about ten times.
