Jesse Jackson Rejects Saudi Peace Initiative, Pushes His Own Plan
By Ima Phrawd
Carrying "gifts of piece" for the people of Palestine, Jesse Jackson is joined by Yasser Arafat as he unveils his Mid East peace initiative. |
RAMALLAH, West Bank Jesse Jackson has rejected a Middle East peace initiative by Saudi Arabia's crown prince, saying the proposal falls short of what is needed to ensure a lasting peace. Jackson, who interrupted his book signing tour for his runaway bestseller It's About the Money, Fool, made his remarks during a summit meeting with Yasser Arafat.
Jackson then offered his own peace initiative that he said will secure Middle East peace for eternity.
"The plan is that Israel would be asked to retreat to the land it occupied prior to the 1947 UN partition plan, in exchange for full normalization of relations with the Arab nations," Jackson explained.
It may be a measure of the desperation in the Sharon government that many Israelis are seriously considering the proposal. Taken at face value, Jacksons plan would mean the removal of all Israelis from the area formerly known as Palestine, which prior to WWII was a British protectorate that included the area of modern-day Israel and parts of Jordan and Egypt.
The idea of full normalization with the Arab world is what attracts many Israelis to Jackson's proposal. "Normalization" under the Jackson plan addresses all Israeli security concerns.
"Without an Israel, there'd be no security concerns," Jackson explained. "This is the best way to achieve peace, strengthen security and establish good neighborly relations throughout the Middle East."
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate,
tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."

This statement indicates a mouthful. Why doesn't some politician advance the idea of letting the oil-rich Arab countries resettle the palestinians? These sheiks are oil-wealthy beyond avarice dreams with available land hundreds of miles long and wide. Palestinians are muslims; Arabs are muslims--a kinship relationship. If Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan (95% palestinian), Iran, Iraq, Libya, etc. want to help, they should put their money where their mouth is. And, for god's sakes, leave "Shakedown Jackson" behind with his theories and hunger for public attention.
LOL. Arafat must have given Jesse a bl@wjob.
Prior to the 1947 UN partition plan, there was no Israel.
