The Bush family is obsessed with oil, though I'd hate to think he'd sell his own country and people out for it. I think he just has both a fondness for Mexico and is a Libertarian at heart. He has said repeatedly that if a business needs an employer, we should accommodate them, a free labor market philosophy that extends to the world. The WSJ couldn't have written it better.
But it does make you wonder sometimes if these are the folks running America:

I have been ready for a couple of years to get this thing moving and get some momentum behind it. There is no other answer than a peaceful but pointed demonstration in D.C. Our representatives don't read our emails, pay any attention to our phone calls, so let's just drop in and remind them who we are.

And so it goes. Do you think Mexico is blackmailing us over something? We survived and prospered for 200 years without this nation, now all of a sudden we can't live without them. Something is going to have to give on this eventually, I just hope it doesn't turn nasty.

This side of Bush still ticks me off. It is this side of Bush that will cause me to vote against him in 2004.

Do you think Mexico is blackmailing us over something? As I have said a couple of times before. I honestly believe that there are some strong currents running here that we don't see or understand.
I am not ready for a tinfoil hat yet, but I am not far from it.

If we need to start marching on Washington D.C. and the White House to get our message across, then that's what we will have to do. Can you imagine President Bush's reaction if he looks out the windows of the White House and sees millions of angry Americans with protest signs and chanting for his removal from office. Healey22 and I tried to organize a protest when Vincente Fox was in DC last summer. We were joined by slightly less than millions.

Our heritage, customs, rule of law, values, way of life, system of governance...everything are going to be blown to smithereens if this monstrosity passes. I totally agree - but what can we do about it? I am open to suggestions.

But, he may have lost more re-election votes from conservative Republicans than he can hope to get from grateful mexicans. You can guarantee he has! White voters outnumber Hispanic voters more than 6-1. So, if you alienate whites at the same rate you win over Hispanics, you're losing 6 votes for every one you gain.

The American people are not going to let the United States go down the commode. I seriously doubt that most will even notice.
