Alatore was one of the most powerfull members of the Assembly at the time and was in charge of redistricting in 1981 and saw fit to take a 6 block long 1 block wide strip which included my office and place it into the adjoining district. No one had ever come even close to getting that many votes against him.
We don't need to win the welfare districts that have no opportunity of ever even getting close to being 39% which we always considered winnable with a good campaign. They are losers and should be written off as such. The only reason for running was to entrap his campaing funds in the district and making him spend them to keep his seat.
In previous campaigns he didn't have to spend a lot of money to keep his seat but I put up a crediable challange and he had to outspend me 3 to 1 to assure his win.
I consider the time and money spent in the campaign to have been well spent.
Like mimicking everything the Democrats do? Why don't you go join the Democratic party if you don't like the principles of the GOP. The real GOP, not the California Democrat-suckup GOP.
